Are families with all children of same sex, more common now?

My DD is thrilled to be pregnant with her second child, a little brother for her son. She hopes to have three children, as she grew up with two brothers and can't picture herself with a smaller family. The trend she's seeing currently, makes her believe she'll have 3 sons.

DD has many friends/acquaintances who are also young families with children. Three quarters of them have completed their families, with 2 or 3 children of the same sex. Only a quarter of DD's friends have children of both sexes.

When out and about we've noticed that larger families (4+ children) usually do have at least one child of the opposite sex. However it surprised us that so many families she knows have children all of the same sex. This was not the case among my friends, so I'm wondering if it's becoming more common now. Do your grown kids have all children of the same sex?
