Question about FSBO commission sales~
Comments (13)The realtor who brought me this buyer was actually the same lady who had it listed for 16 of the 19 months it was for sale....she had it listed on the MLS...took all the pictures, did the advertising, etc....and her normal commission was 7%, so she did it for 5%...and I agreed because she did have the expense of "getting it out there" in the first place......and strangely enough, this was the first couple she ever showed it to 19 months ago. The wife wanted it all the time, but it was the husband who was dragging his feet, until she told him that this is one decision she was making and they WERE going to split the differnce...and I took it....See MoreReady to sign contract -- DH freaking about economy!
Comments (24)We put our pool in about six months ago and are wishing like you wouldn't believe, that we wouldn't have. I'm a realtor and my husband owns a home inspection business. We feel like we're at the very top of the economic pain chain right now. First we had Hurricane Ike and no power for two weeks, then went straight into the 24/7 news coverage about how bad our economy is. Houston weathered the original mortgage crisis really well. Our market didn't take a hit like the others did. But now, my husband hasn't gotten a call since before Hurricane Ike. That's almost a month. He never used to go more than two days. We can't tell what's hurricane related, or what's fear related right now. My work has stayed pretty much the same, because I'm in the foreclosure industry. Because of the path I've chosen, his inspection business is the bulk of our income. (He's also a career firefighter, but it'll be extremely tight living off of that.) I look in my backyard and I love what I see, but I definitely do not like the fact that I ate up a huge portion of my equity when I put it in. Worst case for us, we might very well have to sell our house in the near future, and when/if we do, we're going to take a hit that we wouldn't have taken prior to the pool. The only way I'd put one in right now, is by paying cash only. No way, no how, would I finance one and eat into my equity. And I would do neither if my job wasn't secure. Just a thought....See More99%Finished-Passed Inspection Today--lots of pics and drawings
Comments (18)Thanks for the link to the backsplash. I would have been interested in somthing like that, but I had a sheet metal shop make me a backsplsh (stainless) and bought a Grundtal shelf form Ikea...also got the s hooks! I think it will all be hung tomorrow. Still trying to decide about the canisters in pic..have more of them, but they just are not going to work for me. Maybe my DD could find a place for them I know about the Harwich tile shop. LOVE the items you got from them.I am going to do just a simple subway tile in a brick pattern, but I will go and look at their fabulous selection..As you can tell from my name -nauset (as in beach), I am in Orleans....See MoreQuestion About Inspection
Comments (14)I managed speak to my realtor before the buyers came. She told me that if they remove the clauses they agree that everything is fine. I told her I was concerned and that I feel we should get something from them in writing saying that they decided not to get an inspection done. She figures we should wait until we hear back from them. They have until Thurs to remove the conditions. I have decided that they have ticked me off enough and I am going to tell them to pound sand if they have the nerve to come back to us with problems they noted and want fixed or a reduction on price. I know they want our house and they have walked once and came back so I am comfortable letting their deal go. The market isnÂt bad here and I know we will sell soon. mariend  I will push to get it in writing. I also checked everything when I got home and put my valuables in our safe before I left. Very good advice that is often overlooked, I am sure. roselvr  I tracked down your post and read it. Glad to hear everything worked out in the end. This is our second move in less than two years and this time we are moving across Canada! Actually our last move involved 4 intercity moves after we moved her because we were waiting for our house to be built. This is our last move for a very long time!! Hope you are settled in. linda117  We have never engaged with the buyers as we donÂt want to go there. The first time they contacted us was after our realtor advised that she was going to list our house that afternoon and they should drive by to see if they were interested. They drove by and we still had the fsbo sign up. They called and emailed us immediately trying to get a deal before our realtor signed us up. When I returned their call I told them to contact our realtor. So they sheepishly called her and asked to view our house. Then the next day they told her they were going with another realtor which is who they are dealing with now. This is why I donÂt trust them. So they have viewed our house twice for an hour each time and then did an "inspection" today for another hour and a half. I think tonight was more to take measurements etc. but if they decide to remove the clauses I am going to have our realtor request something in writing about the inspection. Hopefully they have had enough time to see the house and finish off the deal on or by Thurs...See Morecpartist
