Please VOTE. Chair or Desk!!! can't make up my mind..
Comments (21)Another vote for the desk. It will be a great addition to your salon and the kidney shape is perfect to work with customers. You could probably even take this as a write off once you start up your own business so you may want to ask for a receipt. As others have said, a single chair is much easier to come by. Before finalizing what to do with that corner, first get in the buffet and make sure it works in that space, then finish the decor for that with the mirror and lamps. Only then decide what to do with that other corner. You are a lot like me and go in several different directions at once. Advice to me about 6 months ago was to slow down, take it piece by piece. Well decorated spaces take years to evolve..... If you are looking for several items on a tight budget, try checking out estate sales....See MorePlease help me! I can't decide on a roof color...
Comments (19)Thank you SH! Those really do help me visualize how each would look. Thanks also for everyone who posted picks, I have a hard time visualizing things, which is why I'm having this current problem. I also agree with the person who mentioned the lighter colors not looking as good for as long as the darks. So many I've looked at that are lighter have dark streaking going on. I'd like to avoid that if possible. Dh says we should go more brown, but I like how the blacks bring out the grey tones in the stone. However, I do love the first mock up! I guess I need to decide which "look" I'm going for. I just don't know! I'm wanting an old world feel to it for sure. I was thinking the black walnut would be a good way to stay dark but still get the brown tones. But with that first mock up, it really says "old world" more than the black, doesn't it? I also was concerned about the roof looking busy, like it would compete with the stone in some way. Oh and the whole house will be done in the stone, if that helps. Here is another picture of the house with the stone on it and a black roof. These are the type of shingles we'll most likely be using, do you see any browns there that would work? Here is a link that might be useful: Shingle gallery...See MorePlease vote and help me decide on replacement lighting fixtures
Comments (3)The Bedford would work better with your space. Your space is really light all over right now, so anything you change may seem heavy or dark at first, but it really isn't. It is just a more updated look, so try to add some accessories to bring some of the darker metal to other areas so it all relates....See MoreCan't decide which is best....will you vote??
Comments (9)I keep a small cabinet pantry (one of those cheap laminate type at Lowes) in our laudry room, where I store cans, pasta, rice, some snacks, and some baking supplies. I store extra or large items in our unfinished basement on shelves. The little pantry in our kitchen now has cereal, oils, crackers, PB&J, honey, flour, sugar...the more common every day items. I will usually have to make a couple trips to our laundry room while cooking, but it isn't too far, although more pantry would be convenient. I do think I will get more storage with the penninsula, but I like the look of the island and getting helpers from both sides. My biggest concern with the island (besides storage) is the island being a barrier and the awkward corner on the fridge wall. I will map out my storage and see if that helps...thanks....See Moretibbrix
