Erica, I washed the sweaters in cold water. I didn't want the stitches to shrink, I like the loosely woven texture. I used fabric glue to outline the area that I wanted to cut to prevent the yarn from unraveling. After the glue dries cut through the yarn. Use a similar color fabric cut the size of the yarn cutout to line the pillow with. You can either have both sides of the pillow from the knit, or only the front. Stitch the layers together, leaving a 4 inch opening. Turn right side out. Stuff with loose polyester fiber form, use a molded throw pillow foam, or do like I did on my favorite one, and use the down feathers from a bed pillow. Hand stitch the opening closed. Good luck. Please post pictures!
