Burned grass recovery

This past weekend, I put in a new in-ground sprinkler zone. During the process, I placed two tarps on the lawn to place the turf I cut out (using an edger) and the dirt from the tunnel excavation.

The tarps were down basically all day Sunday, from about 10am to 6pm. The weather was in the mid to upper 70s. It hadn't rained in days, but there may have been some slight moisture from the morning dew that hadn't fully evaporated.

I have noticed that some of the lawn where the tarps were laying are burned / dead. Could this be from the turf being "cooked"? If so, why would only a few square feet appear affected rather than the entire tarped area? I had two 10x10 tarps.

Could this be a disease and not burned grass? Thy only appear where the tarps were covered. It started with just the tips looking burned but this morning I noticed that it has spread down the blades.
