Most people here would rather not have the dishwasher in the run between sink and range. Have you considered placing the DW between fringe & sink instead?

I agree with llucy, but I would add a prep sink to the island. When entertaining, or preparing for a large gathering, that will give you several prep areas for helpers. With 3 little ones, let's hope you won't be the only cook for very long. I think the island seats and table seats are a little too close, but the table can be moved closer to the east wall.

I really like the kitchen layout and dining table, with access to the deck, but I'm curious about the rest of the public spaces. I can see what I assume is the master BR, off the back corner (I see shower and vanity), but it seems that the living/family room will be quite narrow, in the front of the house, and the kitchen/DR is very closed off. I know that's a style of bygone eras, but not as popular today, and not really conducive to large groups. I have a narrow door between my kitchen and LR, but have a wide figure 8 traffic flow, and kitchen/DR are open to public areas on both ends. (Really great for roller-skating kids. ;)

Sorry, I think I liked the "back hall" concept better.

Where is your living room? Can you post a plan of the entire floor?

mama goose_gw zn6OH - other public spaces: we're have a living room 17' x 18' in the the southeast corner of the house, a kids' common room upstairs that is 24'x17' and an unfinished basement (I have a roller skater, too! should be a good place to move down there). We'll also have a deck along the east side of the house, part of which will be shaded. I know the great room concept is much more popular, but we like a separation. And it's not a huge separation, the living room is just down a 7' hall in this version.

Oaktown - thank you for that honest input! It's still in flux now, so that version is a possibility still, but I think I like this one better. I received a comment from Mrspete that the kitchen looked off, way off, in that version, so this is my attempt to deal with the kitchen. I like how there's easy access from the garage to the pantry in this one. Also, we aim for our mudroom to be a nice, sunny space (there will be a wall of windows on the south side there), and some of that light can flow into the kitchen in this plan.

Regarding just the kitchen,

I would definitely switch the sink and DW.

I also would do two 33" cabinets on either side of the range instead of breaking up the space so much. You'll be able to get so much more into the larger drawers.

Is the 18" cabinet next to the DW your trash pullout? If so, leave it on that side or if you add the prep sink to the island, then put the trash on the island too since more trash is generated from prepping.

PS 8' between your island and your table is plenty of space. Recommended is 5' so you're 3' more than recommended.

OT--Do you have Plasma cars? My children, now grown, had roller blades, but with the grandkids we discovered Plasma cars. Oh, my, what a hoot! They are inside toys at my house, but we have an 8yr old daredevil who takes advantage of the looping traffic flow. And, yes, the adults in the household have tried it, too. The two kids in the following video remind me of my 31 yr old son, when he was their ages. Come to think of it, they act a lot like he did, too.

mama goose_gw zn6OH - yes, we have a plasma car, too! Somehow we pulled the steering wheel off ours and we've never been able to reattach right. It keeps coming off, but it's still fun to scoot around on. I may have been on it myself (but I didn't break the steering wheel, promise).

My spidey sense must be off, because on the plan it doesn't look as if there is 8' between the island and table, but the 4' between the table and the east wall is more than enough room to move the table over. ETA, I found your previous thread with the graph drawing, which puts the overall size in better perspective. You've done a lot of work, and the result will be a much better layout--with advice added by everyone above.

I did just notice that the island is drawn as 8'x3'. If you are using standard 24" cabinets, the island should be at least 40-41" deep, to account for the NKBA recommended minimum of 15" overhang for comfortable counter-height seating. That would also include a 1-2" overhang on the other side.
