Closets by Design vs California Closets
Comments (16)We have had two closet systems installed Closets by Design. Both times we had positive experiences with the install; just be clear whether you want it to be notched in the back for baseboard, in my opinion it looks better to remove your baseboard so it’s not notched. It’s also worth it to add the baseboard and crown, and increase the height of the system to the ceiling. The salespeople do have a “poor mentality” to make sure they get the sale so you really have to push to add these extras. We are pretty handy, so the third closet system we did ourselves using Menard’s Dakota system for a third of the cost or less. It looks as nice and sturdy the rest....See MoreCloset ideas
Comments (3)my husband and I used to fantasize about getting kitchen cabinets from Ikea to fill one wall to do stuff like that (desk, bookcases). We figured we could get base units to make up the desk area, since they're 24" deep. And then fill the rest of the wall with wall cabinets (shallower depth). Some would have doors, some could be open. You'd need a 24"-deep wardrobe unit for the cupboard. Maybe Ikea's "Billy" bookcases might work. Meanwhile, here are some photos to give you some ideas. I think they all have desks, and some don't have wardrobe/cupboard components, but you could simply add a deeper "box" in one of the units. http://www.designsbydwight.com/desk/wall-desk-unit.html This one has almost all the components you need: http://homesfeed.com/wall-unit-with-desk/ As does this one; note that it's a set of wardrobes, mostly, w/ a few open shelves above the desk. This one has most of what you want. See how it's made of components http://lulik.net/wardrobe-designs-for-small-bedroom/ Another desk idea--see how this desk drops down from the Murphy bed? You could have a desk that drops down similarly from the front door of the wardrobe/cupboard....See Moreneed floorplan ideas for master bath & closet
Comments (0)We have worked with an architect, and to be fair, we have alot going on and I been a little all over the board. Now I think we would like to just keep it simple (instead of moving walls to change the laundry location etc). It's a simple rectangle off the master bedroom with dimension of 227 (w) * 290 (l). Would like to maximize the floorspace, maintain dual separate sinks, separate tub and shower, and have a linen closet in addition to the master closet space. We just completed our basement remodel and are also working on a sep kitchen and laundry design so I would really like to see some design ideas/floor plan ideas that you might have....See MoreSmall but deep foyer closet - design ideas?
Comments (9)My foyer closet is similar. It's 3.5 by 5.5 deep or so because it's under the stairs. I used a modular closet shelving on the left side floor to top with the shallow shelves. I keep a ridiculous amount of stuff in there. The shelves are 7.5 deep. In the back I have another section mounted that's 26" wide and has hanging rods for extra coats, and shelves underneath for more stuff/boots. I used the IKEA algot system but Elfa and the like have similar options. I still have room to park my vacuums on the right side....See Morecupofkindnessgw
