Not ready for remodel, but my 30 yr old SZ is!

Hello all, so I've
been reading the forums on and off for the past year as I am in early stages of
planning a kitchen remodel. Early stages
meaning, I've thought about it, picked out most of the appliances I would like, do plan to keep the current footprint but have not had so much as one conversation with a kitchen designer or a
builder, etc. My dilemma is that I currently
have 30 year old built in sub-zero columns (36" each), it is loud,
interior is breaking down, and the freezer is starting to not keep things as
cold as it should. I feel I am living on
borrowed time.

I am about 99% sure
I am going to get the panel ready Miele columns - 30 inch fridge and 18 inch
freezer - I love them and thinking this kitchen will be my one splurge in
life. I will share my other appliance
leanings, but first things first.

Other than the
aesthetics, is there anything wrong with me just getting the Miele columns now and
then having the panels installed when I finally get around to re-doing the
kitchen (hopefully within the next 6 months)?
What are downsides or other considerations I need to think about if I go this route?

Thanks!

Paul
