Also, the recommendation for 32"-36" height comes from the NKBA or some other "reputable source, not the TKO GW'ers, as far as I remember. LOL. I went to a showroom yesterday and they had one of those deep custom hoods. I am not 6' but it was quite uncomfortable. I had to watch out. I am sure I'll learn to compensate but I know DH would be very unhappy if he hits his head on that thing.

I throw the slips in the laundry w/ a crap load of bleach and they come out fantastically and the only thing that I haven't been able to fully get out was the gel ink stain from a pen that exploded a few weeks ago. Oh well! I have a white metalasse' throw that I put over the back of it because Poochina likes to lay on the back of the sofa and observe what goes on outside. I currently have faux leather chairs that wipe off easily and cleanly. When they are totally trashed someday I will replace w/ real leather because I know it works for my needs. I gave up heavy comforters a few yrs ago in lieu of machine washable quilts that I turn down when I'm home and the gal is following me around and when we go to work I pull it up all of the way and she sleeps up there until we come home. On her white sofa: Proving that no space is too small for her to squeeze into and cuddle w/ someone.

We could look back 50-60 years and find simpler times and some frustrations. By decade. Fine print contracts, shipping AND handling charges. Cell phones charged by the minute. The first texting, both parties were charged. NYC was disgusting in the 80's. Phone companies in shambles, garbage workers on strike...gum stuffed in pay phone coin slots. etc. 'Germ-a-phone'. My first gardening order was an advertisement in the back pages of OrganicGardeningMagazine. 20cent seed packets. They would send a (hard too read) fax page, then check boxes. Send a 10 or 20 dollar bill wrapped around your order. Simple envelope. I do miss some of that time. (I think they are still in operation at 25cents per pack). My mother at 90 still wants to get off the phone in 3-5 minutes. We lost internet last week for 4 days. Fine by us. I have a personal hot spot set up by work. No real need for TV/cable. The real suffering are my younger co-workers in small apartments with roommates...or anyone younger with debt. No savings. Paycheck-to-paycheck. Or any of our fellow Americans/world wide peoples suffering... caught without the ability to provide for their families. Sickens me. Post covid hospitalizations with maybe years of rehabilitations costing so much in suffering. And $$costs. Years of medical rehabilitation costs.

I've seen it done multiple times and passed code inspections with no issues whatsoever. Of course it depends on local codes. IMO some of the Miele Plumbed CSO install drawings are not 100% inclusive of all the possibilities. Look at the installation specifications, not the drawings because the drawings may not cover all possibilities. And on top of this the drawings vary by model-series, e.g., the 6000 (a few years old now) vs the (now current) 7000 series. One point I see consistent in Miele specs always (always = in every CSO model I've looked at) is a 19-11/16 inch maximum elevation difference between the bottom of a kitchen sink trap ( also called a sewer gas trap or an "S" trap). If you were to position a plumbed CSO below counter top in many cases you could not satisfy this 19-11/16 in limit (because you'd need more than 19 11/16 in. to connect into the sink drain pipe). However if you were to run the CST drain hose through the floor and into an indirect drain in a basement, (example, drain ends with an air gap into a utility sink/tub) you will have meet this requirement. Suggest you get a competent plumber involved, he/she will have no trouble figuring this out from Miele's specs and local codes in a few minutes. S Shr you mentioned asking the appliance dealer this question. IMO and IME this is not a good source, the dealers are not licensed plumbers nor are they very knowledgeable with plumbing codes (there are rare, very rare, exceptions). Do you think the dealer will be present when you have plumbing code inspections done? No, for anyone who has any doubt. Show the specs to a plumber, or better yet, point him to the miele website and give him the model number, and ask him your question.
