3rd oven/MW help-- Miele speed oven?
Comments (3)Many folks here really like the Miele Speed oven and many of us here, like me, just like speed ovens, period. I have the Electrolux Icon Speed Oven, (for over 7 years now). It has been completely trouble free. It does everything that the Miele does, except broil, and it is a bit smaller inside and uses a rotating carousel, (which the Miele does not). It is also easier to use than the Miele, particualarly microwaving, just enter the time and hit start. How can one not like an appliance that bakes a tater in 14 minues, (Including preheat) instead of 45 mins to an hour in a regular oven. It convection bakes, speed cooks, microwaves, does popcorn, defrosts~~IE one of the "Handiest appliances" in our kitchen & one I would never be without. There is also the Advantium and many folks like it too. So check the stying of the 3, any of them will do the job. Also check the inside cavity~~~~in the 7 years we've had ours, I've found nothing that I cook or bake regularly that does not fit in it~~~~Course it's not gonna hold a whole turkey~~~that's what the big oven is for, but I use it for turkey thighs and breast, fish, etc etc~~~You name it!! Best of luck with your upcoming decisions! Gary...See More3rd oven/MW help-- Miele speed oven?
Comments (4)I don't mean to hijack, but Sayde, I have been meaning to post a shout out to you. I think you and I may be the only two GW members with a Blue Star RNB and a Miele Chef Speed Oven (as opposed to a Master Chef). I really like the speed oven, but I don't use the combi functions very much because I have just no idea what to set the thing on. Can you give me a bunch of examples of things you use the combi functions for and most importantly, what time and temperature you use? Thanks so much in advance....See More2 CSO Miele XXL and not 30" CO?
Comments (7)I have just the Miele CSO and speed oven and am more than happy. I previously had a 48" professional gas range that looked enormous (and it was on top, 6 burners and a griddle was more than I would ever need) but it only had two small European sized ovens down below. So I was used to that and knew I could work with it. Space was at a premium for me so it was either features or capacity. No regrets!...See MoreChoosing Miele XL or XXL combi steam and second oven
Comments (14)If your CSO is your only option for broiling, then sooner or later you won't be able to perfectly clean the oven cavity. You will have some splatter than won't come off. That's just the nature of broiling. Presumably, you're ok with that. But it's one of the reasons why I use the gas range when I need to broil something. I'm less annoyed by that oven getting dirty. Also, my gas range has a much more powerful broiler (it's almost as good as a commercial salamander). So, I'd feel limited by using the broiler element in the CSO. On the other hand, compared to a toaster oven, I would expect my CSO to do better. It is plugged into a much higher-power circuit than a counter top oven. In fact, I have both a Miele SpeedOven and a Miele CSO, and I know that he latter has a much better broiler...See Morewdccruise
