Help! We are re-doing our kitchen and I need to choose a cabinet color for my maple cabinets. Our home is the Tuscan style from the early 2000’s, so I do want to go with a warmer color. My walls are SW divine white. I like a bit of a darker beige or cream than Divine white to offset the lighter LRV of 72. Has anyone tried SW Natural Linen, BM Natural linen, BM Clay Beige, BM White Sand for cabinets? Also was thinking of Accessible Beige, but afraid it will be too gray. My kitchen is north facing, with minimal light. Our floors are noche travertine. We are going with a lighter granite or quartz and maybe Cle’ tiles for backsplash.

Test them and see what works in your space

We have it throughout our home. It's not too dark anywhere. This photo was taken in our living/dining/kitchen area in the evening, when things tend to be dark and "cozier", without natural or overhead lighting -- just the pendants and lamps on.

The trouble with cutting formulas, is that you don’t know what you’re going to get until you’ve bought and paid for it. (Unless you’ve seen it done somewhere and liked it?) All the key attributes may alter, not just the one you are trying to change. Do you want a colour from a similar Hue Family location, the same quantity of Chroma (colourfulness), only lighter (higher Value)? Or do you want the new colour to be similar in, Hue Family location + lighter + more neutral? Here are some existing colours from the same Hue Family neighbourhood. They are all lighter than Accessible Beige - with similar quantities of colourfulness (Chroma). Except White Heron & Futon are also more neutral - (less Chroma) If the colours are still too ‘yellow’ for you then you are looking for colours with lower Chroma again.
