I need advice for a bunk bed in a rental... Please help

HISTORY

I purchased, without research, a bunk bed since daughter asked me to get it before grandchildren and friends came for a visit. I have not owned a bunk bed so just assumed it is 2 twin beds made out of wood.

Purchased bed for 1200 and asked salesman 2 questions.

is it made out of wood and came it be separated into two twin beds? Yes to both questions.

Later an Adult ask about sleeping on top bunk(rental property)

need to find out from store

weight limit for each bed is only 150 pounds

my question is if bed limit is only 150 pounds then the bed separated would not make a durable separated single beds.

Also bed is made of MDF and veneers, not solid wood

i do have 13 slats per bed

QUESTION

can I do anything to this bunk bed that will allow me to have a greater weight capacity on the lower bed?

It is a rental, I previously had 2 queens and 2 normal twin beds

Now, I have 2 queens and 1 normal twin and 2 abnormal twin beds

Do you think that I could...

Add more slats,

add a piece of MDF or wood over slats to evenly distribute more weight

Attach bed to wall

place a larger cleat underneath existing cleats to give support to slats

Etc. Etc. etc...

of course I would love to have more weight capacity up top but really need it on bottom bed so I can have 2 normal twin beds again.

Thank you for your timely response
