Paint the front door a fun welcoming color, but paint the garage door the color of the house. I like your home, too. Grover, it makes me feel better that I'm not the only one who can't use the SW visualizer! Made a trip to SW store to get quarts of darker and medium green, but they don't sell quarts of stain, either for wood or concrete. To try different colors, you have to buy a gallon! I sure hope we like these colors. I'll post when we get some sample colors on the house.

I like your brick better than the painted ones, so if you['re selling soon keep in mind that the money you spend may actually turn off some buyers rather than enhance the value of your home. Appearance aside, some buyers believe that painted brick requires upkeep, and you'll be unlikely to be able to have the conversation to convince them otherwise. Attractive landscaping would improve your property's appearance. Some of the existing shrubs would be a good background after pruning, so don't start by pulling things out. I can't tell what your shrubs are from your pictures but some evergreen shrubs like yews can be easily shortened, e.g. the shrubs in front of your windows. And most deciduous shrubs can also be pruned to avoid unattractive bare lower branches.

While I agree the roof could be a little darker, it shouldn't be too dark as that would make the house look top heavy, plus dark colors absorb heat. If you are in a hot climate that would be a really bad idea. I think the exterior color is fine. Do you not like it, or is the surface in bad condition such that it needs to be painted? While the trend now is for dark colored houses, that wouldn't really be appropriate for this style of house. I would remove the shutters from the window to the right of the front door. I can't see your front door very well. Does it need to be replaced?
