looking for discontinued NAFCO vinyl
Comments (0)I am trying to get my home ready to sell, we have been gifted 2 cases (27sq ft each) of Nafco LO 722 Spice vinyl planking, but still need 4 to do the space we have, i've done some internet searching, and haven't had much luck. Any one out there with ideas ? If we found a Nafco that was similar with just a slight color variation would it look stupid to mix the 2 colors to make it look on purpose? I'm thinking probably so, since it's an obvious vinyl not wood planks that have natural variations. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated. Trying to get it done for the least amount of damage to the pocketbook. The primary reason for thinking it should be done is that there is about a 2 inch gap x the length of 1 tile in the flooring tiles that are down in the hallway, we've lived with it for 10 years, but it still sucks to catch a toe on it in the middle of the night in the dark. Don't want potential buyers to say oh well I'll have to change that and drop way below market value on their offer....See MoreInside my summer kitchen.......(lots of pics)
Comments (8)If you like it, go for it. It is very cool I think. For me the upper walls might be a bit too busy though and so I would probably save one wall as is and strip the others. As far as the bottom half - hmmm, not white. I might first try cleaning a spot with denatured alcohol to see if it is a shellac finish. If it is, I would at least try to put on another coat of shellac. When I am working on stuff like this, I take one area and try my plan out on it to see if I like it, before I do the whole room. It is hard to tell how the room is going to look since you are taking down the ceiling too. I'd wait until everything that is going to be removed is gone, then step back as see what you think. I had many, many layers on my walls (no newspapers though) and saved pieces of each of the wallpapers. In one spot in the dining room, I saved the oldest wallpaper on the wall. It is faded and very fragile, but a pretty A&C pattern. I haven't sealed it because I am afraid of what that might do to it - but I probably should. It sounds like such a fun project for you. I would love to see the end result. Diane...See MoreStupid question? Can RH bistro pulls be put vertically on doors?
Comments (5)I had to look up the pulls to see which specific ones they were but I don't think they'd look odd as long as they're hung in a way that makes sense for which way the doors swing etc. By the way not a stupid question at all! I'm finding myself asking lots of questions (stupidish and otherwise) of anyone who will listen as im planning my kitchen update but sometimes I just need to ask these things out loud and get some validation....See MoreArea rug on wall to wall carpet?
Comments (13)Lisa, the decorator I worked with does the area carpet over carpet a lot, I've seen it in several homes he'd helped with - uses it to add color and ground the seating arrangement. I told him No in my living room, partly because it seemed at the time to be an element in several homes I'm in - so maybe a little predictable. And I do my own housework, I didn't want the second carpet edge to deal with when vacuuming. My third reason was the furniture is floated in that room (all of it), and I would have lost the advantage of lamps plugging discreetly into floor outlets, the cords would have come out from under the second carpet and across it back to the lamp tables....See More- 8 years agolast modified: 8 years ago
