Restoration Hardware Salvaged Wood Dining Tables
Comments (1)Does anyone own any salvaged wood pieces by RH? I am looking at two dining tables in particular- the Trestle Table and the Gun Barrel Table. Both are beautiful and unique although the wood being unfinished worries me. The CSR rep at RH told me for daily maintenance mild soap and water can be used. I've also read than people have used Monocoat oil finish to protect. Im also wondering if the Salvaged Brown color enhances the wood's natural beauty like the pine color does... My other concern is the warping- I understand it's natural but am wondering if anyone knows if the smaller planks (on the Gun Barrel Table) wood warp more or less than the wider ones on the Trestle Table... If anyone owns these or has any info regarding maintenance/care for salvaged wood pieces I'd appreciate feedback. Thank you....See MoreQuality sofa from Restoration Hardware?
Comments (38)I have the Cambridge sofa in vintage black. After 3 years it was saggy on one side and had lost quite a bit of leather on the seating area so I contacted them and they replaced it. The new one looks better but they went from a 98" sofa to an 8ft one but when measuring it, it actually measures smaller than 8 ft. I also have noticed that when someone gets off it, the other person can feel it, almost like it's not level or build strong enough, it goes up and down. Hard to explain but we're small people. I actually preferred the saggy, missing leather to the new version. If you can find anywhere else to get what you want in a sofa, do it. Restoration Hardware may look pretty but it's not well made unfortunately....See MoreRestoration Hardware Trestle Salvaged Wood Dining Room Table
Comments (43)I am not familiar with tung oil at all. Our chairs are RH natural and we left as is…they have darkened since purchase and are not as dark as table. I tried to do a quick search for the techniques and did not find the one i had previously seen. I am pretty sure it was on pinterest. A few of the techniques were a bit too labor intensive for me. The legs have a lot of detail Love your chairs! Your set looks beautiful....See MoreHow can I finish a reclaimed pine, salvaged wod table?
Comments (23)I have not used this stuff, but looking really quick at their website, it looks promising. My first choice would have been satin polyurethane because it's waterproof. A dining table needs that. The Monocoat website does show in their table of test results that it's resistant to water and water based spills. So I would be willing to use it in this kind of an application. I just can't endorse it from experience....See Moregregbradley
