need advice for troubleshooting bypass humidifier

Hi all,
Just moved into a new place and bypass humidifier does not work, been troubleshooting with no success. Its a GeneralAire 1042LH dated 2003 connected to a Carrier 8000TS furnace.
Wiring was out of place and Im not sure when it worked last time. There is no humidistat around( except for a season knob control, looks to be mechanical) and thermostat does not have humidity control.
I could not read any power when I used my multimeter at solenoid valve, supposed to be 24 v.Transformer wiring is connected to board at PR1 (not PL1) and neutral section .
I have replaced old solenoid valve with a new one and there is warm/hot water coming to it.
For troubleshooting ,wires were connected to 24v com and HUM.
There is no filter inside the humidifier.
I did not change or add any new wiring to thermostat.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
