another facebook issue even for those not on facebook
Comments (12)unfortunately no Mike it could be enemies or those frienimies that once were friends and are no longer, often times they would do things like that simply because they can and they know it would be upsetting. Those people likely would not honor a request to please not do that. Or people that just get off on being A-holes they seem to be abundant. Also some people have been in groups or clubs etc and are no longer part of them, pictures of groups end up and not everyone in the group pic said it was ok to plaster their image every where. In fact I have been in pictures as a by stander and found my pic, had no idea it was there was never asked to be in a picture or to have it posted. Used to they had to ask permission to use your pictures and get signed release forms. Not to mention just being the polite thing to do. the thing about facebook is the opt out feature not opt in which makes if a bit different ballgame....See MoreAdult SD & ex-wife issue
Comments (7)If you block someone on facebook, it disables them from seeing anything you post & disables you from seeing anything they post. In the privacy settings, you can control who sees your posts, pics & everything else but someone that is not blocked may be able to inadvertently see your post anyway. At least that has happened with me. The safest way to make sure she won't see anything you post is to click on her page, even if it's a private page, it allows the option to block this person. (where it says report/block this person) and after that, let SD deal with her own mother. Don't worry about anything you do upsetting her... your existence will upset her so trying to talk & rationalize with her will only throw fuel on the fire. What she is doing, is destroying her own relationship with her daughter. Eventually, the daughter will have had enough & limit contact or stand up to her & force the mom to step back. It has nothing to do with you....See More"Post/repost this for 1 hour" -- Facebook
Comments (5)Ah Pacebook....a toy for those who have nothing original to say. So many people on FB don't post anything they think of and simply re-post or share data they get from other users. It's my pet peeve of FB. I just don't understand why posting something for "a defined period of time" would make any difference or raise awareness.....because some people don't sit there with FB up on their PC all the time! My favorite ones are those that say "I know you're a true friend if you re-post or share." Honestly, if you were having personal issues, a true friend wouldn't be posting on FB; they'd be personally helping you out, not blabing on a social networking site. I'm off my soap box now. Bee, don't let anyone on FB guilt trip you. If they're asking you to repost something, you can bet your bottom dollar they are not the originators!!! You decide how you want to use FB. Don't let others do that for you! Done!!! :)...See MoreChristmas dinner invitation via Facebook???
Comments (43)Dances, here is the recipe from Serious Eats. Works great. Ingredients 1 standing rib roast (prime rib), 3-12 pounds (see note above) Kosher salt or Lawry's seasoning. Freshly ground black pepper Chopped fresh rosemary Procedures Preheat oven to lowest possible temperature setting, 150°F or greater (some ovens can't hold a temperature below 200°F). Season roast generously with kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper. Place roast, with fat cap up, on v-rack set in large roasting pan. Place in oven and cook until center of roast registers 120°F on an instant-read thermometer for medium-rare or 135°F for medium. In a 150°F oven, this will take around 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 hours. In a 200°F oven, this will take 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Remove roast from oven and tent loosely with aluminum foil. Place in a warm spot in the kitchen and allow to rest for at least 30 minutes, and up to an hour and a half. Meanwhile, preheat oven to highest possible temperature setting (500°F to 550°F) 10 minutes before guests are ready to be served, remove foil, and place roast back in hot oven and cook until well-browned and crisp on the exterior, 6-10 minutes. Remove from oven, carve, and serve immediately. You can trim the fat off either before roasting, but I do not recommend it. Trim it off after if it really bothers....See Moregrandmamary_ga
