"Post/repost this for 1 hour" -- Facebook

I see this every now & then on Fb about some vague issue the poster is having. It usually is directed to "true friends" & states others won't care. I have never "reposted" it. I guess I don't really get it. Why would you post something for an hour.... and then, do you delete it?? Where does the "original" post come from... because it usually reads really similar every time, as if it is a copy & paste.

Just another aspect of Facebook that rather confounds me.....

It feels to me like someone trying to throw a guilt trip. I try to avoid that kind of "travel." LOL

It is a copy and paste. Usually for some kind of
"awareness" I usually don't c and p those either.
Irritates me! but if I like the message, sometimes
I have posted the message and taken out the demand to
have you post it in your update.

I get those requests and I ignore them. One time a daughter of a friend asked me to post her picture as my profile picture on the year's anniversary of her death. I didn't do that either, but I did post her pic and wrote a few words about her.

Ah Pacebook....a toy for those who have nothing original to say. So many people on FB don't post anything they think of and simply re-post or share data they get from other users. It's my pet peeve of FB.

I just don't understand why posting something for "a defined period of time" would make any difference or raise awareness.....because some people don't sit there with FB up on their PC all the time!

My favorite ones are those that say "I know you're a true friend if you re-post or share." Honestly, if you were having personal issues, a true friend wouldn't be posting on FB; they'd be personally helping you out, not blabing on a social networking site.

I'm off my soap box now. Bee, don't let anyone on FB guilt trip you. If they're asking you to repost something, you can bet your bottom dollar they are not the originators!!! You decide how you want to use FB. Don't let others do that for you!

I don't copy and paste any of that stuff and I get tired of people posting the hoax posts that have been gong around FB since the beginning or the hoax amber alerts. Sometimes I wish people would check their sources before they post things instead of copying what others post.

Oh, how I hate that crap.

None of your "friends" originated it, they just mindlessly posted it, and then you have to deal with it.

It's spam, just like the forwarded crap you get in your email inbox.

Ignore it, and if the same "friend" continues to post that sort of stuff, either call them on it or opt out of seeing the posts they "like", or delete them from your friends list.
