Today was a glorious day, sunny and comfortable.

I made a pork roast in the slow cooker the other day, and tonite was pulled pork sandwiches with coleslaw.

I made a big pot of shrimp chowder tonight. Omg that is some wonderful stuff.

Wish I could have joined one of you. What I planned on fixing didn't work out so I had home fries with scrambled eggs over them.

You need to share the citrus dressing recipe ; it sounds good. Fixed a good salad with mixed greens and all kinds of stuff, lol. Robert didn't want ginger dressing again, so I whipped up creamy green goddess type of concoction.....then put our leftover salmon from last night on top. I am going to have to get some asparagus!

Shirley, our weather is very similar, and today was nice, wasn't it? Your meal is nice and comforting. I couldn't imagine not having leftovers, or living with someone who doesn't like them. I know people like that, and it's a fresh meal every nite. Jim, how nice having tomatoes and green beans from the garden. Our tomatoes aren't even ripening yet. The landlords gave us a bunch of pole beans, which are long and flat and they went into the soup the other day. They were really good. Raven, was your dinner as good as it sounds?? Do tell. Pam, pizza is good anytime but I'm sure even more so, with your grandson Georgy ravioli with your marinara sauce would be awesome! Rhizo, hubby loves ordering BLT's for breakfast when we go out. Angela, I'll take my cool summer over your heat any day! But a chicken salad is perfect. OF, you must finally be happy! You got some summer temperatures. And you still put the oven on! :)

Deeby, I cooked a large ham in my stock pot with green beans and potatoes. We love that all simmered together. Kittie, a pot pie sounds wonderful. Did you make it from scratch? Angela, at least you offset the cheese toast with an artichoke! LOL OF, I know that Buffalo stadium was looking for about 500 people to shovel in time for the Bills Game. But they recanted that tonite and cancelled the game. Phyllis, you and Old Fixer were on the same wave-length with your lasagnas. Pam, we love roast chicken, and I always make broth from the roasted bones. Haven't attempted soup yet, though. Shirley, our landlords do appreciate us. They tell us that, and they share their bounty from their garden with us, and let us use part of it to plant whatever we wanted. Shirley you eat so well. Very healthy, and an apple to boot.

Mimipadv......we always find that the pineapples get sweeter when we leave them on the counter for a couple of days. When they start to smell like a pineapple we cut it open. Your pork chop dinner sounds delicious. It was cold enough that I was wanting a beef roast. Party, today was definitely chili weather in your area and ours (and Gadgets') Pam what a treat, having filet mignon!! Good for you! Rhizo, I have the urge for quinoa tabbuleh and your dinner confirmed my taste buds wanting that. That's a summer dish for me. Gadgets your chicken and potato wedges sounds good to me too!

Pulled pork with slaw....that's very southern....yum!

I made spaghetti with broiled shrimp and a white wine cream sauce with sauteed onions and peppers, fresh tomatoes, and peas. We also had crescent rolls and a pinot grigio.

I knew I had shrimp that needed to be used, and started peeling them, and as is pretty usual for me, wasn't sure what I was going to make, and sort of winged it.

Jasdip, we put a big pork butt on the grill over the weekend and enjoyed it with a pile of slaw. It's a full day commitment but seemed like a good Labor Day weekend project.

Last night, I made a garlicky, gingery chicken stir fry with lots of fresh vegetables, served with brown rice and toasted almonds. I don't know why I don't make something like that more often, it's a favorite.
