What's for dinner Thursday nite?

Hubby grilled some bone-in pork chops and asparagus on the little electric grill out on the balcony. We also had some leftover mashed potatoes and some cauliflower. Fresh peaches for dessert.

We had leftovers tonight. DH had orecchiette with Italian sausage left over from the other night, and I had some big bang shrimp and an orzo salad. The shrimp was left over from lunch today after golf, and the salad I just made tonight for part of tomorrow night's dinner.

Omelette from brown eggs my daughter brings me, steamed broccoli and fresh tomato with Italian dressing, and homemade bread.

Ravencajun, I have some beef ribs in the freezer--think I'll copycat your recipe. Not so crazy about beef ribs but they were on sale at some point. Gadgets, you put me to shame because you always seem to eat so healthy. Need to take some lessons from you!! Pam, nothing tastes better than a well-done (as in blackened) hot dog from the grill. Love cucumber salad too. I make mine in a creamy sauce with dill, but like the vinegar onion cucumber salad, too. How do you make yours? Georgysmom, I'll sure be glad when you're home--miss you so much here!! I read in your other post about being tired of eating out and understand that feeling. Although I could use about a week of it right now. This hot weather makes me lose my appetite. Not that THAT would be a bad thing since I have 15 pounds to lose. Kathleen, we had rain sometime in the night and it was cool and breezy this morning. It felt wonderful, but warmed up fast. Hope you're feeling better. I had to turn the air on because it was making me feel a little queasy and knew I wouldn't sleep with it so hot. When I turned it on, it was 83 inside. Groan!

Nikki's downtown is a southern style food cafeteria that I have been going to for years. The two servers know every time what I want, and I don't have to say a word. They just plate it up as I go down the line :o) Fried snapper fingers, hominy, spinach! Sooooooo good. Only place in town that serves hominy.

DH and I went to a financial planning meeting we were invited to by our banker. It was in a local restaurant. Appetizers: platter of chicken satay, boiled shrimp and tuna tartar with tomatoes on flatbread. Salad: I had the house salad, mixed greens, goat cheese, cranberries and a cooked pear.( DH had the caesar.) Entree: Filet Mignon Dessert was an assortment but i just took the vanilla ice cream. Shirley, our weather is very similar, and today was nice, wasn't it? Your meal is nice and comforting. I couldn't imagine not having leftovers, or living with someone who doesn't like them. I know people like that, and it's a fresh meal every nite. Jim, how nice having tomatoes and green beans from the garden. Our tomatoes aren't even ripening yet. The landlords gave us a bunch of pole beans, which are long and flat and they went into the soup the other day. They were really good. Raven, was your dinner as good as it sounds?? Do tell. Pam, pizza is good anytime but I'm sure even more so, with your grandson Georgy ravioli with your marinara sauce would be awesome! Rhizo, hubby loves ordering BLT's for breakfast when we go out. Angela, I'll take my cool summer over your heat any day! But a chicken salad is perfect. OF, you must finally be happy! You got some summer temperatures. And you still put the oven on! :)

I made spaghetti with turkey meatballs, steamed green beans ( that I steamed too long, but I just bought a steamer basket), garlic bread.

Veggies (mostly root vegetables) tossed in olive oil and roasted, together with BBQed hamburgers. Ice cream parfait for dessert.

We went out for sushi. We went to a new place and it was incredible. This sweet little old lady that works there kept bringing stuff out to us saying "its on the house." I definitely want to go back again

Little bittiest lobster tails (4 oz) I've ever seen. Threw them on the grill. Husband gave me his, "too much work". His fingers were as big as the tails. LOL

Some bowtie pasta, chicken, broccoli and mushrooms in Alfredo sauce.

Aren't they called langostino when they're that little?

I've only had langostino a couple of times and they were about 1/4 the size of these and weren't in the shell.

Made a new chili recipe for hubby, he said it was a keeper. I had a cube steak. I made a espresso angel food cake with mini cho. chips. Hubby likes his with van. ice cream.
