Believe we will have just a baked potato and salad.

It's brrrr cold here in Ohio. Wind has died down some.

Stopped in the local grocery to pick up some ground turkey. They were having their deli chicken on sale, so guess what my meal tonight was? Chicken and jojo's (potato wedges), and some cut up raw vegetables.

DH is on his own tonight. As soon as I feed Ferdinand, I have to head to town for an update training session for Poll Scrutinizers for the upcoming Alberta Election. I'll grab something quick in town on my way home.

It's another great day here, just cool enough for an extra layer if we decide to eat on the patio.

I made a version of a Mediterranean quinoa salad this morning and it's been sitting in the fridge getting tastier and tastier. I also made a tzatziki sauce....the quinoa doesn't need a dressing, but it will be nice on the cold leftover salmon I'm going to slice up on top.

I've just finished preparing some raw broccoli, cuke, red and yellow sweet peppers, and zucchini for a little appetizer with the tzatziki. I could eat that stuff with a spoon.

It is freezing here and spitting snow, and we were pooped so we went out. I had a petit filet mignon with a mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes and coleslaw for $14.95. Wonderful.

Tonight was a bit of a heavier, winter dish- pork chops with a sherry vinegar gastrique sauce.

Cold here today... it snowed on and off all day. :p I made vegetarian chili and a big salad.

The stores have gorgeous pineapple on for $1.97 and I bought 2. One is ready to eat now, and the other will ripen for a few days yet. I cut up the ripe pineapple and we'll nibble on it tonite. It's so nice and sweet! I'll get some more before the sale is over.

Actually, pineapples don't ripen further once picked.

Mimipadv......we always find that the pineapples get sweeter when we leave them on the counter for a couple of days. When they start to smell like a pineapple we cut it open.

Your pork chop dinner sounds delicious. It was cold enough that I was wanting a beef roast.

Rhizo, I have the urge for quinoa tabbuleh and your dinner confirmed my taste buds wanting that. That's a summer dish for me.

No he isn't Jasdip. He will probably win, but it will be by a very small margin. It's almost a perfect three way split between the PC's, the Wildrose and the NDP right now. Our local WR candidate looks like he will win our constituency That is who I am scrutinizing for. Because I work for the government, I can't do a lot of campaigning for him, but poll scrutinizing falls within the "moral boundary".

Slow roasted a corned beef brisket yesterday. Made Reuben sandwiches for dinner. I forget how much those darn things shrink. I brisket = 3 sandwiches. No leftovers for corned beef hash. *sad face*

Briskets do shrink a lot! I kept waiting for super sales this St. Patty's Day, but didn't find any real deals.

I'll see if there are any bargain on huge briskets at Costco, like last year.
