If I were you'd I'd pose this question to Bevangel--often found in the building forum (you can locate a post by her, click her name, then email her through GW to ask her to post on this). She is very knowledgable about accessible homes/baths, etc. From another post she commented on: "Any room or closet that you want to make wheelchair accessible needs to have a wide enough door (32" minimum) for a wheelchair to get thru. Accessible bathrooms need to have a 5' diameter circle of clear floor space so that a wheel-chair can get turned around in them." So, I worry, right off the bat, that your bathroom isn't wide enough. Plus, having a glass shower front means you won't be able to put in a grab bar on that wall for use for a weaker person to get on/off the toilet.... I think that wall needs to be solid, at least from the half-way point down. If you cannot, under any circumstances move the shower's location, then I would make the closet narrower--at 4' wide only, and give the rest to the bathroom. If you can afford to cut the slab for a shower drain only (this won't be that expensive, in the grand scheme of things...), I'd try moving the shower to across from the sink/toilet and all the way "down" to the wall. Then, have your closet run across the right wall. If you draw that out, you might find you can get a wider area in the center of the bathroom for accessibility. Or, since it is a fairly square space (10x11) you might find that extra expense isn't worth it. Finally, I'd consider making the whole 10x11 space bathroom/linen closet, and building a closet on the door side of the bedroom (just a reach in). Bathroom space would look like a long bath, with lots of space in the "front"/bottom of it. And, along the bottom wall could be a reach in closet or cabinetry set up. This would give you the turning radius needed as well.

Thanks for all the advice, you all are GREAT. Linen is now outside of WC, accessible from the hallway. I provided the INSIDE measurements, and here is the vanity wall in case you want to comment. Sconces between the window and the built in mirrors, but maybe high wide windows is a better use of space. 8' high ceilings and my husband is 6' tall, so maybe the mirrors on the side is the best for funtion? HIS CLOSET is 3' wide on the inside, and he has twice the space that is currently available in our house now, yes, the long wall is most likely how we will hang the clothes/install the shelves. The window in the closet is on the north side, so no direct light at all....no sure but can fading still occur with indirect light?

Pictures would really help to visualize the space. Getting a free PhotoBucket account is probably the simplest way - I know there are threads on the kitchen forum explaining how to upload. Do you need a toilet in this space, too, or is that somewhere else? I'm thinking double vanity with makeup area (maybe between the two) on one wall, with shower and linen closet on the other. But if you need a toilet that needs to be fit in there, too.

I think a large family room is a good idea. I like that you are doing a larger shower instead of a shower and tub. We recently moved from the snow belt where we lived over 30 years. The newer houses had 3 car garages, but in almost every garage, there were only two cars and sometimes one. People tend to store "stuff" in the garage. (We are guilty too). In our house we built 15 years ago, we did a 2 1/2 car garage with extra space in the rear. I would choose more room in the house and do a oversized two car garage, but make the garage extra wide and deep. Some of the 3 car garages have no storage on the sides or in the back. Therefore the 3rd stall is all storage. I think you would be wise to have a mudroom/ laundry room between the garage and house. It would also be nice to try and change the living room to where the kitchen/dining area is and move the kitchen/dining area to where the LR is now.
