You can also find where media files are stored in your computer's media libraries or jump to music in the same album. Note Although you can access your media items in the Windows Media Player Library, the actual media files can be found in Windows libraries (Music, Videos, Pictures, and Recorded TV) on your computer. Hide all To search for items in the Player Library To ensure that you can easily find items in the Player Library, it's important that files have accurate and complete media information. If necessary, you can add or change media information yourself. For more information about changing media information, see Add or edit media information in Windows Media Player. Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Media Player. If the Player is currently open and you’re in Now Playing mode, click the Switch to Library button Picture of the Switch to Library button in the upper-right corner of the Player. Thank you both for your responses. Pam, I didn't even know what rip was regarding this software. I will look at everything a bit closer. In ITunes there is an option to load music manually and was hoping WMP had the same. I just use this software for listening to music while I am using the PC. It has taught me that I like all of my music in the library, gives me a good variety to listen to. Zep, I have used WMP for years and never had this problem before. It must have been something in an upgrade.

are you opening the windows media player program and hitting the help button there in the program? It is likely 12 I think all windows 7 came with 12 and my guess is that yes you would have the latest version. I use VLC player myself instead and prefer it. as you can see here it is compatible with 7 VLC Media Player VLC
