I hope you don't mind but I do have another question about those type of programs. I have never used Quick Time or itunes, they were on my computer when I had it built. My question is what are the purpose of these programs and what are they used for? Please give me an example. I was use to Media Player because of my music and I learned how to put some music into the Media Player. What operating system are you using? If your missing that "About" feature, seems like something is wrong, open and close windows media player, reboot the computer, see if you can get that feature back. Windows Media Player 12 comes as part of Windows 7. "In Step 4, you have choice to choose selected file type to play as default with Windows Media Player. You need to click on "Choose defaults for this program" and then select file types that you want to associate with Windows Media Player." See link below,for more on above. Tried the START>PROGRAMS> thing and WMP10 came right up. Maybe it's working correctly and I just don't know it. I was sent what I think is called a streaming video and when I tried to play at first even when manually opening WMP10, it wouldn't play. Not sure what I did, but now if I open it manually it plays. I was under the impression that it would open automatically. Should it? Then again, do I really need or want WMP11. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Many thanks for your reply yosemitebill. I now understand but I hadn't realised that the mp3 files became uncompressed in the CDA format (this is the first time I've attempted this sort of thing). Thank you once again.
