you water.... WHEN THE TREE NEEDS WATER .... too much.. is just as bad as too little .... THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW ... in your soil.. in your garden.. is for you to INSERT YOUR FINGER.. and find out if the soil.. UNDER PROPER MULCH is hot or dry .... if it is dry.. water it .. deeply.. so it gets thru the whole root system .... dig a small hole.. to find out if you are actually getting water down where you planted the roots .... if it is hot .. it will be dry tomorrow ... as one of the purposes of the mulch.. is to keep the soil cooler .... over-watering.. in soil that does not drain properly ... will kill a tree faster than under-watering.. IMHO .... in my mineral sand.. i could dig a hole the size of a 5 gal bucket.. and barely get it filled as the water would drain away.. and when the soil was finally saturated enough to fill the hole.. once i turn off the water.. it will be gone within minutes.. that is the type of drainage most trees like... and i still ONLY water newly planted trees... deeply.. once every two weeks ... the thought that any tree needs PROPER watering more than once a week.. is questionable .. unless you are not doing it properly .... good luck ken ps: forget about the first one.. it was a tree 'tard.. it has no relevance to this one.. except in how you might be watering it .... or how you planted it.... etc ...

Jennifer —-(Spraying with Neem Oil and or and other mixtures to eradicate the insects organically could still harm those beneficial insects. Some people will just let those pest stay on the tree because they dont want to harm them. Its a difficlt choice to make for some and you need to understand that some bad infestations that might get out of hand and could cause your trees to become weak and allow other diseses to slowly kill your tree. i always try and let Mother Nature work on the right balance of the pest verses the beneficial insets to keep everything in check. But sometimes i will have to step in and use more than organic to combact the problem. its up to you to decide what is best for your tree. Laura Even those that eat leaves ___ Katydids 🌺

I have an irrigation system and it is watered every other day. With the rain, it's getting rain pretty much daily. I spread out the roots all around with a little buried a little to try to emulate established roots that went out as far as the canopy. I put down a time release fertilizer that was supposed to good for fruiting trees (can't remember what kind) shortly after planting. I just don't get it. I know its been very hot temperature-wise, but it hasn't been too dry. I haven't let it go more than 3-4 days if we haven't gotten regular rain to bring the hose over and throw a few gallons more water as I read the young trees need a lot to get established. I appreciate the reply. I'll keep up the watering as of now. It just looks like the trees stressed. The only thing I had an issue with until now was some aphids that I cured with a spray bottle w/soap occasionally. I noticed the leaf tips we're turning in. This most recent issue has come on *quick*. The other 3 trees look fine, one of which is a bit smaller Fuji as well and is probably w/in 20 yards, though it gets a bit if shade.

i suspect the wall is baking it .. retaining heat long into the night and therefore no .. or a reduced ... night time recovery period ... move it away from the wall .. and maybe even into shade for a week or two.. so the roots can restore some vigor to the plant ... i would also protect the pot from direct sun ... when it was grouped with its brothers at the nursery... the pots were probably together.. so only edge pots actually got direct sun on the pot ... or im wrong ... ken
