Comments (19)Thanks again, everyone! My gram doesn't like to have her picture taken but I might take pictures of the food that we make. She never really cooks big meals anymore but she does make things like the salads (potato, macaroni, etc.) and I do make a mean fried steak (not to brag). I like the idea of calling the salad "Gram's Salad". Thanks for offering on how to post pictures but I already have! I post on the garden forums and I did take a picture of the fried green tomatoes and mom's new cookware she got. I don't have the best camera but I do get some nice pictures. Usually if I want something to eat when I'm there, she gets me to cook it or dad if he's there (when we visit). Annie, I'll be sure to say thanks for all of you and of course I always get a hug from her :). Brad AKA Moonwolf...See MoreI guess I just think differently
Comments (72)The paranoia about the alleged "bigotry" toward the Catholic church would be best for its own thread and it's a discussion worth having if certain parties can keep from getting out of hand. I CERTAINLY have a few comments to make on that (and some things that really need to be said) but it's so far off topic here, I'll respectfully refrain. This is a conversation I don't mind having on this thread or another. I can certainly be respectful of other viewpoints. I do think our country has a long and not-so-long-ago history of anti-Catholic sentiment. Look at JFK. It was monumental that he was elected to the highest office in the land as a Catholic and that occurred during the lifetime of many on this board. JFK's religion was considered a huge obstacle and he continually had to remind people, "I am not the Catholic candidate for president. I am the Democratic party's candidate for president who also happens to be a Catholic. I do not speak for my Church on public matters--and the Church does not speak for me." Having said that, Mitt Romney was under the same type of scrutiny as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I think there is anti-Mormon sentiment, anti-Semitism, and anti-Muslim sentiment (running very high recently). There is racism, anti-LGBTQ laws are being passed, and women earn 79 cents for every dollar earned by a man. I don't think Catholics have a monopoly on the experience of intolerance. I think there is plenty of intolerance to go around. However, I do think that it does exist and may be the last acceptable prejudice often cloaked under the guise of being anti-cleric....See MoreI guess I am just contrary: vent
Comments (23)The pinterest "pins" are not ads. I also use adblock which is great! Pinterest will show "pins" it thinks you might be interested, based on your pinning history. I love pinterest. I have tons of house stuff, recipes, essential oil info, fabric, health, garden, even a board on my dog. It's a great place to save stuff!...See Morerob333 (zone 7b)
