Comments (2)I hope thisisme's hunch is wrong. Sound like a possible nitrogen deficiency to me. I'd suggest gathering a bagful of dropped leaves and sending them to your extension service's laboratory. Your ccunty agent can give you the address and price for diagnosis. Comments (33)The OP never said they have water problems. They said they have high humidity. Quite likely they're referring to outdoor humidity. I live in south Florida so I'm familiar with high humidity. Most homes here are climate controlled all year long. Many houses visible from my desk have solid wood flooring that was installed in houses here that are largely uninsulated and were built before air conditioning became prevalent and they're largely in good shape. Some solid exotics are problematic in regards to humidity swings but engineered floors only have issues when subjected to extremely low humidity or flooding. Wood seems a feasible option in this case of this poster. Even the least expensive items I have seen are reasonably stable. The effect of low cost is generally manifested in lower grade veneer or shorter lengths. I have nothing against wood look ceramic but it will never will never give you the board lengths, color depth and variety of a product like Triangulo 1/2" x 5-1/4" engineered plank. Additionally, one needs to consider the leveling aspect of using wood look ceramics. From what I've heard and read, the subfloor has to be very level before installation of square edged wood look tiles. All that said, I've often advised people that they'd be better off with carpet, vinyl, tile or another hard surface floor, when it was obvious that their situation was problematic for wood, even though I only sell wood....See MoreMy Aloe Vera Plant Needs Serious Help

Comments (20)Hi Laurie- Your sofas and chair are lovely and I love your round mirror and what I can see of your dining set and the floors are great. Here's the thing- there is too much color repetition in the living room set which is continued in the throw pillows, rug and art work. You need to add interest with color and texture otherwise it boring, which you probably are not! Your sofa and chairs are neutral colors, so they will go with any color in the rainbow. Think about what colors you like, and look for throw pillows in those colors, and get some that combine those colors with texture. Texture in throw pillows can be achieved with velvet, suede, trims, braided fabrics, etc. I would do the same with a rug as well. Are you definitely keeping that piece of art? You could go more interesting with the art over the sofa in whatever colorway you choose. If you tell us what colors you are interested in, perhaps we can give you some choices. This coffee table has a silvery patina and a very interesting texture, and you can add a glass top. This table has a very interesting base, I would stay with a coffee table that is round (or round-ish like the octagon above) because it provides continuity with the beautiful round mirror you will use and breaks up the square shapes of the seating pieces and the art work and and window shapes. These tables also add texture as well, and don't read too much gold, which you don't want because you say your curtains are gold. Too much gold is not good, you don't want to look like Versailles! Your side tables can be round or square. Assuming you want to keep your art work, and assuming that is gold in it, you can accessorize with silver, grey and gold, and mix them together in your rooms because of the silver in your mirror. Your rug is definitely too small. It has to be large enough so that all the furniture can have at least their front feet on it. You can go with the one you have in a larger sizeor pick one with more color. As for throw pillows, it is hard to suggest, because I don't know if you are keeping the art piece, and I don't know what other colors you like, but here are a few pillows that would go with your art piece. Every room can use a little animal print drama- This pillow is in yellow velvet but it reads like gold, which I think is what your picture is. This is dramatic and great, too. You could of course, go way more colorful in your choice of throw pillows and rug, but I don't know what your color tolerance is. This is a bit more daring (and you can use even more color in your pillows if you want!) Can you tell us about your colors preferences?...See Moreplantmanagerkaren
