Weekend Blooms

Heavy rain here, but the plants love it. Hybridizers though may be frustrated by morning rains.

Here's an assortment.

Belief in Vein (still in pot)

Wispy Rays

Buenos Aires (an old Munson that still stands out in the garden)

Astral Voyager is a big bloom:

So many nice daylilies! Astral Voyager is really nice with those pinched petals. Darlington County is such a pretty color, love Rose Masterpiece & J. K. Onassis, and Festive Fall. Yeah, I think I like all of them.

I believe I need 'Hot Cocoa'. Is there a particular rose color that is a great as a companion? 'Let Freedom Ring' looks awfully pretty. Does it live up to its photo? Is it or 'Kardinal' better as a cut rose? TIA

What a nice selection of daylilies. Bud Bennet had a way with the color pink. Siloam Melvin's Yellow looks white to me, but its got a nice wide face to it. Happy Independence day to you too..........Maryl

Karen, the season with began with almost everything splotchy. While it improved, many things are dismal. I, like most posters, don't like to take pics of bad flowers. However, I don't mince words in evaluating cultivars. Unfortunately, things are not clean and fresh here, but probably better than farther north. And leaf streak is not bad. Rain deficit is major. I have a lot of mantises and do not spray unless there is a bad case of thrips. I reject a lot of pics that are not true to color. The chief problem is bluing caused by low light. The peonies I post are nearly all growing at a hospital garden I tend, where I have donated dozens of plants.

That shot of Rose Masterpiece is lovely, but I like Noble Lord as well. And Jaqueling Kennedy Onassis if a beautiful pink. In the Heart of it All loks really good. Lovely post, Mantis

You have some very nice large flowered daylilies. My favorites from this group are Noble Lord and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. I always enjoy seeing the sepals quill on Astral Voyager, and Festive Fall is a very distinctive orange.

Astral Voyager has been a pleasant surprise. Decent bud count and distinctive flowers. We'll see what JKO does in the garden.

I really like Rose Masterpiece as well. I also like Astral Voyager, love the unique shape.

lots of pretty ones. love Wispy Rays,Corinthian Pink,Noble Lord,Jacqueling Kennedy Onassis I always love the kennedy blooms,Rose Masterpiece is a beauty, too.
