I have my Pandora's Box exactly where you want yours. In my front border (facing west). It's very attractive and grows on the short side so that you can place it in the front of the border. My neighbor liked it so well I gave her a fan or two when I divided it a billion years ago (hers is in more shade but still blooms well). It's been in this border for a decade or more and I'm ashamed to say that except for dividing it once and watering it, I do nothing to it, yet it still pumps out blooms like crazy in June. One unusual year (coolish summer (in the low 90's, upper 80's) with adequate rain), it rebloomed in fall. But only that one freaky year.

Hey, I see you're in Vermont...I just got back from Olallie's in S. Newfane....have you ever been there? (I'm in NH). I thought roses were addictive (I have over 300) but this is far worse because I can squeeze SO MANY MORE daylilies in a garden bed! I have made 3 garden beds this year alone for daylilies and I'm not done...(Maryott's is having a huge sale). Your photos are very nice and I also grow Spacecoast Krinkles. I like that even though it is ruffly it opens up well. Some of the more ruffled ones seem to dislike our cooler morning temps. It is so much fun collecting daylilies so enjoy 'sneaking around'....I am always sneaking in more & more and my hubby has lost count so I just tell him it's one I already had that hadn't bloomed before...LOL. Most daylilies make seed. There are a small amount that are not pod fertile but they are the exception not the rule really. Seed can be set even on fulva europa if you are persistant enough. It generally prefers tet pollen though. If you are not getting seed from your cultivars then it is more likely you than the plant. Maybe you are trying to pollenate too late in the day Pollinization first should be done early morning just after the pollen dries and is ready to spread. Then you can play bumble bee. You want to get to the plant before other bugs do. You also need to generally cross a tet with a tet and a dip with a dip. There are a few cultivars that will take pollen from either ploidy but again they are few and far between. If you cross a tet with a dip the plant will often make a pod. But the pod will drop off at some point empty of seed. Also,if you are dead heading your blooms if you are taking off the bloom too close to the joint of bloom and stem then you may be removimg the part of the flower that makes the pod and seeds Hope this helps Signet
