A few daylily pics from a new daylily 'fan'

Hey guys,

I had a few daylilies that came with this house. A few of them i liked and left in place. I also added a few from a local nursery only because I could see them in bloom and they were so my=uch better that what I had growing. Then in a hosta trade someone sent me an eye of Darla Anita and it was all downhill from there.

here is Alexa Catherine that I purchased last year

All Fired Up (added last year)

Summerduck (also added last year)

and lastly Spacecoast Krinkles

Anyway the bad habit continues as I try to make a new bed to add more this fall............My wife doesn't complain as the only sneaking around I do is to buy more hostas or daylilies. LOL

My favorites are the second and third. Wait until the addiction really starts! After all, there are only about 8000 varieties to choose from LOL. Marg

I like Juliana Lynn, Bold Tiger lookalike, and Voila Francois the most. Funny pic of Zeke :) Our cats don't drink from watering cans because I don't keep water in them, but they have their dish of the same form (cut plastic bottle). One cat loves to lick the hose (it's leaking a little). Beautufil lily and nice pic of the butterfly! I don't see them around this summer.

fairysoapgirl - Glad you enjoyed the Stargazers. The scent is just right for me because I have sinus trouble and my sense of smell is not very keen. I like to pick a few and float them in a bowl of water. It perfumes the whole house. Rita - I'm not sure what kind of rebloom it is. I don't think it's a second rebloom because it's on a different fan...just later. Anyway, I'm glad to see it. Val - Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the pics. lalalandwi - MGP is a pretty little thing. I'm hoping it will have more blooms next year. Jean - Take a pic of your lily. Maybe someone here can tell you what it is? It certainly sounds hardy! Debra - I'll take any kind of rebloom that comes my way...just thought this staggered set of rebloom scapes were odd. Quick question...I was wondering if your MGP makes small fans? Mine was tiny when I planted it this Spring. It has multiplied quickly, but is still small. Kathy

Welcome to the Daylily addiction club, you have some really pretty ones to start with and you know the old saying you can't have just one or two and so on and so on when it comes to DL's. Have you ever been on the Lily Auction site? I'm bad I'm sorry I should't be a enabler.

Nice photos you will like All Fired Up it does very well in northern climates. There are over 60,000 daylilies registered on the AHS database so there are plenty to tempt you. Check out the AHS website to learn more about daylilies.

Hey, I see you're in Vermont...I just got back from Olallie's in S. Newfane....have you ever been there? (I'm in NH). I thought roses were addictive (I have over 300) but this is far worse because I can squeeze SO MANY MORE daylilies in a garden bed! I have made 3 garden beds this year alone for daylilies and I'm not done...(Maryott's is having a huge sale). Your photos are very nice and I also grow Spacecoast Krinkles. I like that even though it is ruffly it opens up well. Some of the more ruffled ones seem to dislike our cooler morning temps. It is so much fun collecting daylilies so enjoy 'sneaking around'....I am always sneaking in more & more and my hubby has lost count
so I just tell him it's one I already had that hadn't bloomed before...LOL.

Welcome to the forum and to the daylily addiction. It is lots of fun and we all know how you feel. Your newer additions are all lovelies and I just know you will be adding lots more.

Dear Sneaker, you have picked a great addiction to have, and you will enjoy showing everybody on the daylily forum all your acquisitions as you add them. I'll bet a bunch of us would love to see your hostas, too. I know I would. We have some, but they are pitiful, it's just too hot here (on our property)to grow them successfully. We'll be looking for anything you post, loved seeing your "intro" shots. Avedon

Welcome, welcome and welcome again. We are thrilled to have new addicts in our group. Theraphy, you know... You have some nice ones to start out with. I grow three of those. SC Krinkles did not bloom for me this year but Alexa "Kathryn" did very well.. She make pretty kids too. That's you next step!! Ellie
