See 5 Homes That Explode With Color
Fearless hues add brilliance and energy to homes from a cabin in Denmark to a weekend retreat in Brazil
If you're scared of a little color, you may want to view the homes below through fingers covering your eyes. I've found five of the most colorful houses on Houzz to share with you. Their intrepid homeowners and designers have spun the color wheel and picked out some of the most brazen hues available, even if they had to custom mix the paint to attain them. These are five homes we've toured in the past, so click over to the full Houzz tour if a house intrigues you.
Home to a family of seven in Frisco, Texas. This brilliant hacienda never met a bright hue it didn't love.
There's little whitewashing of the walls in this home; interior designer Ashley Astleford's client and her family have no fear of big bright swaths of color and playful prints.
A couple's permanent residence on Vashon Island, in Washington state. Nicknamed "The Salsa House," this home has one of the most exuberant exteriors I've ever seen.
Every color on the house was custom mixed to a very specific hue.
A couple's second home in São Paolo, Brazil. This relaxing weekend retreat was an abandoned shack before interior designer Fábio Galeazzo enlivened it with blocks of bright color.
The color blocking continues inside.
A patchwork of painted tiles carries the lively palette to the outdoor bar.

A family home outside Copenhagen, Denmark. This cabin has a neutral base that homeowner Josina Bergsøe infused with bold color via artwork, textiles and other accent pieces.
The splashes of bright shades are not contained within the homes' walls; Bergsøe's sharp eye for color extends outside to waves of pink and purple perennial blooms.

A bungalow for newlyweds in Los Angeles. Design consultant Justina Blakeney has dubbed her home, located in L.A.'s Echo Park neighborhood, "The Jungalow." Inspired by the wide range of colors in the jungle, she brought lots of them into her home with wild abandon.
A color wheel in the kitchen is a sure sign that there will be a lack of monochromatic schemes in this house.
The paint doesn't stop at the walls; this vintage bureau gets a whole new lease on life thanks to a new coat of peacock blue.
