The Sale of our Home
Comments (17)Hey, Jules! Just saw your post. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Crazy time of the year as our house is still on the market, and I'm getting ready for parent/teacher conferences. We've had lots of interest in our home...so we're praying things will happen... We've got a friend whose daughter has a shop with an apartment above it on property not too far from the property where we will build. They want to rent it to us. That way, we can keep our Golden Retrievers and kitty and not have to board them. Please pray things happen soon as it is sooooo difficult keeping our house in mint condition to show when we have a 3 year old and a 9 year old!!! LOL Bear Hugs! Kirk Jules, I'll attach our virtual home tour...not to sell our home...but to let you see what it looks like inside. I've always showed the outside for Garden Junk treasures! :o) Here is a link that might be useful: Our Home...See MoreSome details about our House Sale/Buy
Comments (7)Yep! Everything is signed and we are moving in on June 26th. I'm trying to line up everything. We need to have an old well capped on this property. We have lived here for almost 39 years and this well was used before we moved here. It looks to me to be nothing more than a pipe in the ground. Regulations are what they are! I wish it was out in the open, but it is between the sidewalk and the house. Another mess in the front yard! I am so looking forward to being settled....See MoreLanguage in sales contract about inspection
Comments (19)Salti, it doesn't matter what fantasy they believe, when dealing with me. I am selling what is offered, not an ideal version of what is offered. My houses are always at least 50 years old and that is what you are getting - a 50 year old home, not a new one, I tell them. Caveat: again, this does not apply to unknown actual safety issues that are uncovered. I had one sale where there were some water heater venting issues, and they didn't even have to ask - I stated up front that I would replace the venting to the water heater as it was an unknown problem, and got a plumber right away to fix it. I'm not upgrading for the Buyer, and you cannot believe how many times I have been asked to upgrade something that is functional. It must be HGTV renovation shows that makes these buyers believe they should step into a high end mansion for their first home. It's crazy....See MoreIs our tree killing our grass??
Comments (8)I apologize. I don't have any idea if hellebores (lenten roses) are viable in your zone. They are reportedly very prolific in zones 4-8. I don't know why they are so expensive, as they multiply like rabbits. Find an experienced gardener in your neighborhood and befriend. She will be happy to provide you with seedlings. They are idiot-proof perennials that befriend the skirt of maples. Maples have very shallow roots... and tend to strangle themselves with their own roots. They need a lot of land vs. driveway, etc. Generally, they die if they are surrounded by impervious areas. See NC state studies for details. They have survival ratio studies. Best.
