Container elderberries in gritty mix, a few questions

I purchased some elderberry cuttings back in 2013, i believe they are John's and Adam's but I can't remember. I planted them each in a two gallon container with gritty mix. For the past two summers they have been growing pretty nicely but I have a few questions now that I am coming up on their third season.

1 - What fertilizer should I be using? Up until now I have been using Foliage Pro as that's what I use with all of my gritty mix plants.

2- How often should I be root pruning and putting into a bigger pot? Should I put them in a bigger pot now or wait until next year? New branches are already starting to grow out of previous branches and new shoots are starting to sprout up.

3- Flowers! They have not flowered at all. How long does it take for elderberry bushes to flower generally? Can they even flower in containers?

I am in zone 7 and they remain outdoors all year round.

Thanks!
