Shady Central Florida Fruit/Veggie Garden?

Hi everyone,

I'm moving into a rental condo (Orlando) and would like to grow some food. The back "yard" is completely shady with oak trees overhead, while the front porch is, from what I have seen, part sun (only the overhang of the upstairs balcony provides shade - there are no trees out front).

Any suggestions on what I can grow? All container gardening of course. I have read about Sweet Charlie strawberries being good, maybe they will work for the front porch. I'd love to grow lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, potatoes (not all, but those are things I know my family will eat).

I look forward to hearing your suggestions and personal experiences!! Thank you and God bless!
