Going out for corned beef and cabbage tonight.....something I have never made.

Ground Beef Steak w/Grilled Onions...Mashed Potatoes & Onion Gravy... Beets

We had cabbage last night and tonight we are having brats. Went to lunch with my neighbor had half of a corned beef and pastrami sandwich and a giant onion ring. I'm not very hungry.

Ham & cheese subway sandwich. My short day at work today, didn't feel like making dinner...and it's just me now.

Usually today would be yoga night. Instead, I am taking my kids to Calgary. They are head to Viet Nam. Dinner will be whatever they want....fast food on the way up.....dinner when we get there. Not sure.

Ham and homemade pancakes. A lady I recently met brought over a large slice of Irish Cream Bundt Cake. She had given me the recipe, but wanted me to try it before buying the liqueur.

I did not eat much this evening, a slice of ham that a slice of cheese was wrapped around. Finished up my iced tea. A busy day again and the weather here is pretty nippy again, but the sun did finally come out.

I've marinated chicken breast pieces, mushrooms, sliced zucchini, onions, and g. peppers for shish kabobs. The mixed grains and rice pilaf is already done.

Our dining room did itself proud tonight (they don't always!) We had well cooked corned beef, steamed cabbage, boiled potatoes, steamed carrots, garden salad and mint cheesecake with Irish cream topping. The vegetables were plain cooked, just as my Irish family used to have them. We never ate corned beef--I suspect it wasn't available in our small town. There was a BYOB event before the meal, but I didn't go to that. However I may have a bit of irish Cream after awhile.

Glenda: I really like the sounds of your salad, would like to try it.
Phyllis: I'm glad you're getting to eat out. And a bonus is you don't have the cooked cabbage smell in your house.
Satine: Quite a crowd going out. I hope you enjoy the food and the company.
Audrey: I'd love it all (except for the onions).
Raven: Are you back home? I'd like to have one of your 'brats', maybe topped with some sauerkraut.
Kathsgrdn: I really like ham & cheese but prefer mine heated. Do you enjoy your alone time?
Prairie: Would you care to share about this trip to VietNam? Sounds interesting.
Jasdip: Breakfast for dinner. I'll take it anytime. That cake sounds delicious.
Sue: I like ham and cheese so I'd like what you had. Could I have a glass of tomato juice with it?
Rhizo: You have some good ideas for dinners. I need to make up some mixed grains soon. I just finished up my mixture of brown and wild rice, used it in my stuffed peppers.
Seniorgal: Just think, you had a very good meal without lifting a finger. Glad you enjoyed it.

Corned beef, cabbage, carrots and colcannon for dinner. The soda bread was consumed this afternoon, so I am going to make another one tomorrow. Wonderful dinner and I will repeat it later in the year as I bought 2 pack of CB.

Last night was Swiss Steak and roasted vegetables. Tried using chuck tender steak that I had pulled out of the freezer. It got tender enough, but the texture was just too dry, even with all the sauce, if that makes sense.
