Help with my Master Bedroom Please
Comments (6)Lovely furniture! I am assuming the walls are just painted, no paper or other decorative technique on them. While you don't really need anything there, you seem to feel it is calling for something. I would think about finding a pair of paintings or photo portraits that could be hung in oval frames. I think it would compliment the oval design on the headboard, and have the same period feel as the furniture....See MoreNeed Help with Master Bedroom Bathroom/Bedroom Layout - 1970s house
Comments (5)I like my first idea best as far as use of space. I know people say not to put toilets on an outside wall. We had one in our last house in Iowa, but we had 2X6 construction. I don't know how high your window is, but I'm guessing the toilet would fit under there. The shower would be 5 feet long or shorter if you want a wider space to get to the toilet. (kind of tight the way I have drawn). You could do a 5 and half foot long shower and do an angled door at the left end to allow room between the shower and toilet. The vanity would be about 7 feet long, unless you do a 60 inch vanity with a linen cabinet at the door. I would reverse entry door swing if you do that.. The second top right could work and you would still have a small closet. The bottom left plan would require waterproofing your front window. Hopefully someone will give you other ideas. The bottom right plan is bigger, but no closet. Each square equals 1 foot....See MorePlease help decorate my freshly painted master bedroom
Comments (21)I think you’re going to need a bit of contrast or the room will fall completely flat. Dove is a white but a crisp white will still give you a cleaner feeling in there. Since you want a monochromatic room you’re going to have to use as much contrast however slight you can and a ton of texture. For drapery panels i would do a linen with texture and hang them all the way to the ceiling....See MorePlease help with my Master Bedroom. I shortened the thread. Thank you!
Comments (22)Thank you for your replies. Shirlpp, I will try the paint programs offered by BM and SW again. I did try it a few months ago but I was unable to download the pictures to the site Yesterday, I did cut out different headboards and resize them to fit mine and they are nice. After doing this, I realized I do love my headboard when it has pretty pillows on it and maybe I need more light in the room and a different wall color. It is the highlighted rustic color that is clashing with my wall color in person and when not lit up looks dirty to me. Blubird, maybe you are right I need another wall color than what I had in mind. Blubird and Linda Dornan, I have thought about moving the armoire against the wall to allow light in so the headboard could be lit up and removing the small pottery barn white chair to another room. I have a 32" LCD TV (bought in 2007 the year of the new furniture) in the armoire. If the armoire is not in front of my bed or catty cornered, I may not be able to see it lying in bed at night. Also the armoire's doors need enough clearance to open. I wonder if I should put the TV on the dresser in front of the bed and use the armoire for clothing if I can't see the TV when I move it against the wall which I see now I should do. There is a vent (air conditioning and heating) under each window. I wish I did not have the balcony door in the middle of the room that I can't cover in case I have to go out there in an emergency like I did when it was leaking into my foyer area in my living room downstairs. Unfortunately I need all the pieces of furniture and have no room in the rest of my townhouse. I will look for more replies later on and see if there are any other suggestions. Thank you! I missed everyone! You are all such wonderful people and many of you have amazing decorating talent....See MoreKaren P
