The most economical solution would be to bite the bullet and paint the desk from your teenage bedroom set that you are using as a vanity. Then ditch the teenage dresser and move the vanity. The shelves in your towers are currently being under utilized and you say you need storage for folded clothes. I would put curtains on the glass with top and bottom rods and use the shelves for the folded clothing. If the only reason the black curtain is there is to hide the cords, I would remove it and fill the area with wicker baskets that have covers. This will hide the cords and offer more storage. Paint the purple shelf black. Since you say you are willing to budget some money for improving the looks and function of the room I think you would be happier if you just got rid of the teenage furniture altogether. Sell it on CL. Then get a second hand secretary desk that looks more grown up and use it for a vanity. Get one that has a hutch to fill the wall space and you can use the cubbies for storage too. One that sits on legs would look light and airy in the room, but if storage is an issue, get one with drawers below. The flip down work surface would stay up most of the time so as not to crowd the room. These secretary pieces can be found on CL for cheap. You will feel more like a princess doing your routine at one of these than at you old teenage desk. If you sell the desk and dresser, and get a secretary the cost might be a wash. If you are planning on painting the secretary black anyway, you can even get a scuffed up one for very little money. Then with a secretary painted black being used as a vanity on the wall, and all the other furniture black, I think you could leave the two towers as they are as the economical option. You don't want everything to be all black do you? You just want to not have a myriad of wood tones and treatments. Your idea to get an entertainment amoire is nice. I think that a TV hidden behind doors is more peaceful for a bedroom and would look better being less cluttery. An amoire would have a smaller footprint in the room and also give that wall some breathing space. They are cuter too and you could find one that looks very feminine. Again, CL to the rescue. Buying a clothing amoire and adding a shelf inside for a TV, will give you style options that are more suited for a bedroom than a rec room. They are usually on feet and a big bulky thing like an amoire in a smaller room needs feet to make it seem lighter. I like my first idea best as far as use of space. I know people say not to put toilets on an outside wall. We had one in our last house in Iowa, but we had 2X6 construction. I don't know how high your window is, but I'm guessing the toilet would fit under there. The shower would be 5 feet long or shorter if you want a wider space to get to the toilet. (kind of tight the way I have drawn). You could do a 5 and half foot long shower and do an angled door at the left end to allow room between the shower and toilet. The vanity would be about 7 feet long, unless you do a 60 inch vanity with a linen cabinet at the door. I would reverse entry door swing if you do that.. The second top right could work and you would still have a small closet. The bottom left plan would require waterproofing your front window. Hopefully someone will give you other ideas. The bottom right plan is bigger, but no closet. Each square equals 1 foot.

Beautiful headboard! You have a lot of options to choose from! It appears from the photo that the bedroom may be on the smaller side. In that case, I suggest either a small pedestal table, or nesting tables in lieu of nightstands. It would also look stunning (and save space) to hang pendants on the side of your bed, instead of the traditional table lamp. Good luck! Your second bedroom layout is so much better because you'll have windows on 2 walls in the bedroom. However your closet is barely a walk in with it only being 4'6" wide. Very tight. Also clothes can't turn corners. The toilet room doesn't need 8' in length. Again poor design. Your shower doesn't need to be 6'. If you make it 5' and then add 1' to the closet, that would be a better use of space. Actually Marks layout is better except he has a thing against toilet rooms. I'd switch the shower and tub and then enclose the toilet in his version with the wall of the shower being solid. (Glass walls look good but are a huge pain to clean.) As for your whole house plan, there is so much that could be improved. Your kitchen with the dog leg island and the second island is awful. Not bad. AWFUL! As in really poor design and going to be a real PITA to cook in. Also, these plans were custom drawn by an architect, just to put everyone's mind at ease. I gave him the layout though, so you can't blame him for the layout, only for not correcting my ill-conceived ideas. Well it's obvious he wasn't too good in the fact he wasn't willing to let you know why the design was bad. A good architect would have suggested other ways to make the design better and helped you to see why this was not such a good design.
