I messed up.............. help

When were were discussing all the "font" stuff and colors I did some changing things and now when I go to google I have this very light gray font color and its small. How to I change it all back again? I did the tools, that didn't work and I did the theme font changer. What do I need to set these at to get back to normal?

Janet, not sure what the issue is but DofA is one that is planted up close to the foundation wall and it does very well--a monster in blooms and vines. The general thought is that planting near the foundation is bad because the plant's roots will be under the eaves and won't get enough rain. What I tend to do with plants planted close to the house is to water them well when planted and then begin watering further out from the house from then on out. Plants want to survive so will send roots outwards in many directions searching for where the water is.

If it is dormant prune it right before it comes out of dormancy. Maybe February where you're at. To leave a lot of nodes on it, maybe prune high say at 4 feet. It will still be a small tree, and you can prune it however you want after that. A note on my photos, my tree was a troubled tree. I pruned it down and only one branch came back. So I made that a new central leader, headed it etc. Well this cold winter killed that central leader and I was back to ground zero. 4 branches sprouted just above the graft. I decided to leave them as low scaffolds and that is what you see now. the tree has been planted for 2 years now. A major difference I see is the new scaffolds are a lot thicker than the first year. As the roots were fine. So developing a root system for a year made a huge difference in caliper of branches. Here is a photo at the end of the first year. Notice the new central leader is smaller than this years scaffolds. This year's scaffolds are twice as thick! Developing a root system first is a major, major good idea! So if all goes well you will have much better scaffolds than you do now. they will be thick and strong! Here is direct evidence of what developing the roots can do for you. Again compare branches here in the first year, to those in the 2nd year. All branches in 2nd year were started in 2nd year. So twice now I have had to redelop this tree's structure. If I get dieback this winter, it will be less. The scaffolds are way too thick to dieback.

Fill some plastic six paks with soil and poke a deep hole in each cell. Carefully spoon out a small chunk of seedlings. Tease them apart, holding them only by the leaf part. Using a pencil or end of a small paintbrush, carefully guide the root into the cell, one plant per cell. Carefully (with the pencil) close in the soil around the root. Place in a pan of water for a few minutes. Then put the paks under lights. Be brave enough to throw out a lot of seedlings (or cut them off at soil level and eat them.)

Or do a "Restore" to the day before you diddled around with that code. That'll usually fix most problems like the one you're experiencing.

I used the Theme Font & size changer that was recommended here, and that didn't help so I went into tools under options and set the size at 10 the color as black and I still have this gray like that is on this board. When I use Google its much smaller and this light gray. It never was before I messed with it. I also removed the Theme font & size changer but its still listed in my tools.

I assume you went to Options, then Content to change the font size and Colors to change the color, correct? In Colors, is the box underneath the option checked or unchecked?

In Firefox, you can click on the Help Menu, choose Troubleshooting Information and choose refresh Firefox. This totally removes all of your add ins and returns Firefox to it's default settings, and should return you to normal operations. Your bookmarks won't be touched in the refresh.

I just unchecked the box, now it looks different, I don't know if I like it yet but its darker, and it now has lines separating each comment . Google is still weird, light and dark and bold that was never there before. The writing is still small under the topics too.

I played some more and think I got it pretty much back to normal.

Do you know what the setting should be so I can write it down in case it happens again? Thanks

Instructions for resetting Firefox to default settings. Scroll down to where it says instructions for Firefox browser, that will return your Firefox to original and is not supposed to change the bookmarks.

in the default settings under colors the box is checked for Allow pages to select their own colors. Text is black, background is white as the default settings under colors. Is that what you wanted to know? Under advanced the box for allow pages to select their own fonts is checked.

A size 10 font is pretty small and google already has a gray font so maybe the size 10 is just too small...I'd jack that up to 16 or so. Just remember what you did so you can go back if you don't like it.
