Can I use this puff pastry tart filling as layer cake filling?

Cream Filling (from Joy of Baking)

Ingredients:

1/2 cup mascarpone cheese or cream cheese
1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoon (14 grams) granulated white sugar
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions:

Beat the mascarpone or cream cheese until fluffy and smooth. Add the heavy whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla and beat until soft peaks forms. Just before serving, spread or pipe the cream on the tart shell and top with fresh berries or cut up fruit. Serve immediately

I'd like to use this filling as one of the layers in a two-layer sponge. I'm not going to mix any fresh fruit into the filling, but just spread the filling between two layers of the sponge.

Will this filling hold for a couple of days? Or will it collapse, disintegrate or misbehave some other way?
