Question about roasting corned beef

I started roasting corned beef a couple years ago and it's always delicious. I've always done around 1hr/# at 300F.

This year, I bought a 3.5# one and a 2.5# one and I'm going to roast them together. Since there are 2 separate roasts, I don't think I need to cook it for 6 hours. I guess I'll check the smaller one in 2.5 hours, and then the other one at 3.5 hours. Does this make sense? Seems like there's a point at which the 1 hour/# should be decreased.
Any input?
Thanks!
