I have learned a few things about football that I didn't know before this happened. I didn't know that each quarterback picks out 12 balls to use during the game. Those balls are used by each respective team only. The only time an opposing player would touch their footballs would be by means of an interception. That is how the situation came about during the game with the Colts. It seems crazy to me that the players should pick the footballs. Wouldn't all the balls be the same? I also didn't know it had been suspected in the game against the Ravens. While it isn't the most important thing going on in the world, I do think it is newsworthy. This is big business and a lot of people follow these teams. Nothing wrong with that.

The only sports I'm interested in are some of the events in the Summer or Winter Olympics, and being around only once every four years keeps them from wearing out their welcome. I do like March Madness, but mainly for the betting aspects -- I don't actually watch the games. If I did have to pick a pro sport, it might be basketball -- because all these guys are actually taller than I am, and it moves fast. Or maybe ice hockey, just to watch the skating, sound off, who cares who wins???! Rooting for a team only happens when I know at least one player, or have a personal connection to that player or players -- or if I'm rooting against known cheaters. This limits me to Little League, although I did (verbally, without watching the games) root for Joe Montana when he played with San Francisco -- hey, we shared the same college for most of the same years! I don't know enough about the players -- and don't need yet another hobby -- to pick teams for Fantasy Football.

Some I'd consider in the "friend" category: (The late) Rodger Kent (Radio/TV personality, businessman and was a very close friend for a lot of years), Barry Zevan (who I almost hired one time, a very interesting and cordial fellow) and Jesse Ventura (like him or not, a very intelligent man). Others I've met: Baron von Raschke, Al De Rusha, Jim Brunzell (all of AWA and other wrestling fame), various other television and radio personalities. Met a number of broadcasters and production people at a monthly breakfast where both past and present TV folks would meet and shoot the breeze. Great time and tremendously interesting to people who were involved in and interested in broadcasting and production. (And they are/were not adverse to telling a few gossipy stories about other "personalities"!) A number of them were pioneers in broadcasting. There's really not a lot of "new" broadcasting, where, in the 40s, 50s, 60s etc, they were finding their way into the medium. Creating new shows, ideas and didn't have the special effects available today. Broadcasting was a passion for these people. They weren't just in it for a multi-million dollar contract like people are today.

I'm so excited I can't stand it!!! :-) My beloved Bison and Vikings are back at it!!! AP is gone (to the Saints), but we have some good RBs. Vikes D looks VERY stout again! Our former Bison QB, Carson Wentz, looks great going into yr 2 with the Eagles! If you're a fan, how are your team's looking?! Will any "SMACK-talk" develope here?!?! ;-) Yes....I admit to being a devious little **** sometimes!!!!! Faron Ps- I can't wait! 5 weeks til the AINTS open up MNF on Sept 11th in Mpls.
