This is not necessarily a bad thing. Sandy soils can grow very nice grass (Yankee stadium, most golf courses, football fields, etc). Good drainage also reduces fungal outbreaks. Sandy soils allow for deep roots as well. Where you run into issues is water and nutrient holding ability. You will have to tailor your irrigation to be more frequent with less water, as one inch all at once will be wasted. Maybe one inch spread out over 2 to 3 waterings per week will be better. Also applications of fertilizers should be broken up, again so less of it is leached away and wasted. The good thing with sandy soils is they require less amendments to correct deficiencies, but without a soil test (one better than "you need lime") those levels are unknown. When our pasture (behind house) was tested at Rutgers it needed lime. Front yard - full sun. Back yard - gets mostly sun, then to partial shade. Our land is flat. The problem is - we really don't know what chemicals to buy - when and how much. What kind of chemicals? You mean fertilizers, lime, and weed killers? It's not that hard. Most cool season grasses use 3-5 lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet per year. Most of this should be applied in the fall. If you go organic, which will add organic matter to your sandy soil, you can use it more often, and the rules don't apply as much. Other amendments can only be determined with a soil test.

Does anyone here realize there are other dancers besides Kate that have kids at home. True. going on.. The person voted off tonite was a pretty good dancer in my eyes but she was also a real bearcat actress in her days of fame. I'd say even worse than Kate, ya a long term bearcat. Kate is way out of her league here as is Buzz. He seems a solid good guy that had an amazing career. He's NOT a hero in my mind. Someone to admire but not my hero. I think he's brave to go out on a limb to dance but face it he really is a total stiff next to the pro's (just like Kate ). On a public dance floor he would be a great sight to see. I'm not wanting to criticize any of them for trying, I certainly couldn't do it. (could you?) But.... as many have already said the line up runs the gamut from never a dancer to a singer/dancer. And Pamala, she is about as fake as it gets but she's a good faker!!lol, kinda gross too. I'm not sure why she is tauted as the sexiest woman...gag. Is it the boobs? I can't imagine her taking care of her two kids. I bet she's wack a few if she had 8 kids. I quickly read her bio. My first thought,, G*d don't let my son date anyone 1/2 as horney as her.

My best granite fabricator's lead time is 4-6 weeks after template. He's pretty busy. I have another (solid surface) whose lead time is only 3 weeks. Due to the lessing popularity of Corian, he's not doing as much business as the first, as you can imagine. I had a fabricator start up in this town a couple of years ago with 7 day turnaround. He didn't last. Couldn't float the overhead of such a commitment long term. It's NOT "BS" that only full truckloads are shipped. If you start shipping partials, the price goes up and the business suffers. One tankload of diesel per slab is a pretty poor overhead expense unless the customer is willing to accept an upcharge for expediting the job. Longer lead times are more "normal" than shorter ones in the industry as some of the fly by nights are getting weeded out. Overall though, jobs have picked up. More people are renovating and staying put than moving these days. But, you should still be able to pick your slabs. They should allow you to do this as they already have time and effort spent on the job. And that's the same reason you should stick with them. They've already spent time with you and they have your money. They're not giving you an unreasonable scenario here, other than not being able to pick the slabs. Demand that, and everything else should hopefully be OK.

When I'm being tailed too close I tap my break pedal just enough so the light goes on and they think I'm breaking. After a couple of times, they get the hint, but I love the window washer idea, will try that next time. One thing some drivers do that I just don't get is to ignore merge lanes. We have a lot of turning lanes that start out as two at the turn light, but after the turn, they eventually merge into one. Ideally, cars are supposed to alternate to form a single line, but instead a lot of folks here purposely speed up so the car from the other lane can't get in even though the lane is ending. Seriously? Where are they supposed to go? Over the curb? The same thing happens on the freeway too when there's an accident or road construction. It really irks me to no end.
