Nothing is so Beautiful as Spring . . .

. . . said the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins and here in England we are experiencing the most lovely Spring days with wall-to-wall sunshine, daffodils, violets, primroses in abundance, birds nesting, even little lambs gamboling in the fields.

Of course the farmers and 'growers' are complaining because of rivers and reservoirs running low and no rain expected for the foreseeable future, blamed by the weathermen on the Jet Stream being in the wrong place for the time of year.

But for a couple of weeks it is SO nice to be able to sit outside in my secret/private reading area (in the far corner of the walled-garden in case you come to call) surrounded by the National Collection of ground elder and holding a book not a trowel/spade/fork and hardly feeling more than a twinge of guilt.

How is it for you?
