Look at what my creative cousin Barbara did this time! (1 pic)

Barbara never ceases to amaze me. She's the one who has painted a lot of pictures I've shared here. Yesterday I received a package containing a bunch of small gift bags. Barbara knew about the mugs and ornaments I made this year, and thought I might need gift bags to deliver them in.

Being Barbara, she came up with an idea to make them uniquely my own. She went into my Flickr account and printed some of the photos on paper. Then she cut them out (painting a gold border on some) and glued them onto the gift bags with rubber cement.

I hope this picture does them justice. I think they're amazing! That's my house at lower left, and my dog, Wolfy, at the top--in the pre-arthritis days when he could jump on top of his dog house.

I forgot to get a picture of the equally beautiful gift tags she also made. I'll be back with that later, or tomorrow.

vm, Nothing is "Absolute"! These 'Tainers are indeed heavy. Somewhere over 100 pounds. I've never heard of one tipping over in the wind, as some folks have reported using 18 gallon ones. It depends on your garden orientation to the Sun. My back wall faces due South, so the plants do quite well on the side facing South, but are not as lush on the North facing side of the 'Tainer. You can clearly see this in the above 2 photos. If you get pretty even Sun distribution during the day, then no, you do not need to rotate them. On the other hand, once mid-way through the season wouldn't hurt. BTW, I found a Bloody Butcher blushing today when I did the rotation. Kind of a "bonus" for the effort: Raybo

Glad you have enjoyed them - I had a good time rediscovering them all over again as I flipped through so quickly. I'm going to see if DH or my MIL can take the kids away for a few hrs. so that I can enjoy them over a cup of tea in peace & quiet & plan some more. I think that I really noticed some recurring theme's in what I like - especially color wise w/ all of the green, purple, pink combo's. In fact the page that says Floral Essences w/ a pic of the lady in the green dress is about to help me round out my color palette for downstairs! Her green dress is similar to my LR wall color. Her basket: close to the shade of brown that I've chosen for the top 1/3 of my kitchen walls. The brick wall: My house is brick I was trying to pick a red for my DR but the consensus on the forum is that the deep reds I liked were too dark for my dark trim BUT when I saw that pic I thought "Why not a color similar to the flowers in her basket?"! The whole pic flows so I know it would look good in my house as I already have so many colors in the layout. Color inspiration can be found where you least expect it! And it looks romantic but still earthy. As for my organization: That's a long way coming but thanks! I just used a 3 hole punch one weekend & just shoved my tear outs into 2 binders that I found laying around. I slipped a piece of blank white paper between each article to separate them. I still have tons to add. Soon I will begin looking for some decadent binders to organize them in. A few for decorating, gardening & entertaining. Right now they're all mixed together w/ no rhyme or reason. I need to add the little white thingies to the holes to reinforce them & I've learned that if I break the binding of the magazine I can easily pull out an entire article out w/o having to use scissors to score the pages & risk an uneven tear.

Are they so cute when they are babies... It makes me think of the two little ones Jeff found in a field after we had a tornado...they were crawling around , eyes not open. There were lots of trees uprooted . I raised them to be about that size. The dogs had one out back . tiny little one. it was already dead, but I scolded them harshly and took it from them. Bad !!! Ha! Thanks, Ron. Barbara's mother and mine were sisters. Elsie (hers) was a fantastic sewer, crafter, and gardener. Dottie (mine) was an artist who also sewed and gardened. So it is genetic, but Barbara got a much larger dose of the genes than I did.

Great photo!
I really do believe that traits like creativity and artistic ability are genetic. Also, personality traits. My first wife, Mary, and present wife, Sue (or Bigbaby) as she's known here have, have totally different personalites. My son, Ryan, was 8 when Mary died. Yet, 90% of his personality is so much like Marys. It's downright eerie at times.

Thanks, Kat! I went to Big Lots today and bought a bunch more plain gift bags in various small sizes. Low prices. I'm going to make a few using photos of the recipients. Should be fun.

I love that idea...I think I could do this for my daycare kids...I always take pictures of the kids with santa hats in front of my tree and make soemthing with them, this is a really cute idea. We are making birdfeeders for the parents and a gift bag with their picture is a great idea to put them in...thanks for sharing this idea..she did great!
