We plan to relax! We will make something yummy for dinner (don't know what yet)and become couch potatoes for the evening watching movies until midnight, if we can stay awake long enough!

Nope. We probably won't even see midnight. How pathetic. :)

Since we started coming down to FL for the winter, we go to the VFW for New Year's Eve. The price went up $5.00 this year, to $25.00 a couple (that doesn't include drinks). They have a band, and have food out the entire evening, then at midnight, they serve biscuits and gravy. We always have a wonderful time, as we love to dance. It's a great deal!
We meet more people and make more friends each year, and most of them will also be there. And we never have to worry about sleet or ice on the way home! :>)

Our local bar has a great family get together, with a choice of steak/lobster or prime rib steaks or shrimp and his wife makes the salads with baked pototoes, and all the trimings. They open the community room for the families, no smoking, or you can sit in the bar section, which does not allow the children. It is a great community get together and with all the snow it will be nice to drive 2 blocks to eat out.

Yes, I plan to stay home as usual where it is nice and warm and safe from drunk drivers. I don't stay up until midnight because I would rather get up early enough to watch the Rose Parade.

We happily stay home and celebrate the new year come in all over the world on TV. We have Bailey's Irish creme instead of champagne.:-) I usually fix heavy hors d'oeuvres and we munch. I have 2 lbs. of stone crab in the freezer and about 1-1/2 lbs. of cooked, peeled shrimp. But I'm thinking this year of having our New Year's day menu on NYE and have leftovers the next day. But--I really do like to munch!

I remember when we called New Year's Eve "Amateur Night" because so many people who weren't used to drinking were driving out on the roads.

Here, it'll be Hot Chocolate and Dave Letterman.

DH will not drive on New Year's Eve, and I can't say that I blame him. We will stay home and relax. His dad and step mother are coming over New Year's Day, so might do some last minute cleaning before we relax.

Most years, we are out of town for Christmas and New Year's and take in whatever is offered. Coconut Grove, FL has a great New Year's Eve day parade, and Coral Gables, which is close by, has a parade the evening before New Year's eve.

I had back surgery on Monday so my NYE will most likely be staying home by myself and mending. Bed early. Already feeling better and I get my stitches out on Wed!

Yup, got plans.. looking at my eyelids from the inside, LOL, with other words, I will be sleeping.

Every year I go to First Night in Monterey.

They close off the streets to vehicles and open the buildings to various visual and performing arts. There is music,dance and entertainment for every taste both indoors and out.

It is a non alcoholic family friendly event. They start at around 3 in the afternoon with kids activities and the venue becomes more adult oriented as the night wears on.

I love it. I think I've been attending for about a dozen years or so.

There are First Nights across the country and even worldwide.

Try and go to bed early since I have to work the next day.

For many years we would go to dinner and a movie with friends of ours, then to a warm spot by the river to watch the fireworks. But, our friends split up (after about 23 years of marriage!) last year, so we're just going to stay home. Safer to be off the roadways!

Either nothing or babysitting. I haven't heard from my neighbor for sure yet. They have tickets to the Chick Fil A (?) bowl, I think that's the one here in Atlanta, Tennessee is in it. They are super excited. I might have their 2 little boys for the night. Which is fine, I love having them around and we don't go out for NY. My DD isn't old enough to babysit, but she loves to help.

No major plans here. Spending the day/evening home with our little ones. I did pick up some New Years Eve decorations and party hats and whatnot. My five year old will love that. Oh and some sparkling juice to ring in the new year.

No set plans yet, but we usually go to one of several friend's houses.

None at all, its just another day.

We will be at my cousin's house near Tampa. He recently came back from a trip to South Africa and Egypt so we will probably be looking at pictures and movies from the trip.

We usually don't make it until midnight. We also like to watch the Rose Parade.

We're babysitting the Grandsons. Can't wait!

We will head south on Wednesday. Probably come home on Sunday. Then again we may stay longer. We never know once we get there. I will take my sewing machine and do some sewing for the grandaughters for summer. Never to early to get started.

Having a party with three other couples in Palm Springs, CA. New Year's day we are playing tennis and going GeoCaching in the desert with said couples.

We've stayed home the past few years, but I would like to go out this year. A neighboring town has a big fireworks display and I would like to go have a steak somewhere and then watch the fireworks. It really depends on how cold it is. If it's very cold I will choose to stay home and warm!

I'll try to stay awake until midnight, but I don't usually make it. For more years then I can remember my DH would volunteer to work on New Year's Eve and Day so that he could be off on Christmas. Now we watch old movies and turn in early.
