Do you have plans for New Years Day/Eve?
Comments (25)I work New Year's Eve and day, double time pay. Yeah!! In fact, I went through about half the year's schedule for 2008 and signed up to work every holiday and will finish once my last week of leave is approved. New Year's eve we are having a little "party" at work, basically eating chili and finger foods. I've never gone out for New Year's Eve, ever. When I was growing up we always had whole crab on New Year's day and stayed up till midnight the night before watching Dick Clark. Is he even doing it his show this year?...See MoreDo You Have Plans for New Year's Eve?
Comments (26)We will head south on Wednesday. Probably come home on Sunday. Then again we may stay longer. We never know once we get there. I will take my sewing machine and do some sewing for the grandaughters for summer. Never to early to get started. Happy New Years to all. Stay safe in your travels... Comments (35)Thanks for sharing the various ways you chose to ring in the New Year! So sorry for those of you who are fighting colds/flu and other illnesses, That is not the way you would hope to start the year! bpathome-we had boeuf bourgignon too! We served it with roasted vegetables and crusty French bread. As is typical, we had so many appetizers that we grazed all night. hhireno-I had to laugh at your comment about wishing you had more of those yummy little treats to start today. I made eggnog French toast with the left-over French bread and topped it off with left-over whippped cream and fresh raspberries (from last night's trifle). Then we had an extra bottle of Prosecco, so we "had" to make Mimosa's to go with it! Decadent for sure, but so yummy! We used to go to First Night in Boston, first b/k and then with kiddo's. Now we prefer to lay low in town and have friends over. We are on the Cape for a few days to relax and recharge. I did a long walk today and plan on walking the beach in the a.m....See MoreWhat Are Your Plans for New Year's Eve?
Comments (39)Lol, the oliebollen also sound like Jewish sufganiyah, a fried jam filled treat served for Hanukkah. We usually stay at home, off the road on New Year's eve. We will have our Sprites over for the night so that their g'pa can have a small adult gathering next door. We will go over for a little while to enjoy some of his delicious munchies and to let the girls mingle for a bit. They are great in grown up company, and they like G'pa's friends. But they are very happy to stay with us for the night. We'll play games, have a snack, they'll take their shower and get into their new flannels. Their goal is to stay up until midnight, heh heh heh. But by the time we watch a movie, read a chapter of Anne of Green Gables........zzzzzzzzzzzzzz....See More- 10 years agolast modified: 10 years ago
