Well, I'll probably be staying home and DH will probably be plowing snow. They are predicting a snow storm. If the snow storm doesn't happen, we'll go to a house party but I'm not sure where yet. We always get together with friends on New Year's Eve to play games and welcome in the New Year. Normally we'd stay there until about 2 or 3 in the morning.

We will be with family also. None of us stay up until midnight. If we make it to 9 that will be late for us. Oh, the joy of getting old. We do have a wonderful time and also no alcohol at our parties.

Well, there will be champagne at our house. Just hubs and me. We will make a nice prime rib dinner. Our usual NYE fare. A nice fire in the fireplace. Some good movie on or whatever. The tree will still be up softly lighting the room. It will be nice. It always is.

Just the usual watching TV and banging pots and pans out in front at midnight!!

Babysitting Grandsons! That's what we live for! LOL!

When we lived in CA up in the mountains always had NY eve parties with all the neighbors. Games, poker, food, food, beer, etc lots of fun. Now we have moved may go to local bar or cafe which ever is open and have a good supper enjoy friends and relatives. But if we get the storm, will stay home.

DH and I will most likely celebrate "early" and be close to bedtime when the old clock strikes mid-night. We old folks (DH and me)too fondly remember our "Guy Lombardo" TV shows and the ones we enjoyed in Scotland; and sadly none compare today or seem to be worth watching anymore. But we will play Scottish bagpipe music and Auld Lang Syne and wish each other a better New Year. Nanny

Usually my brother and his wife, and a friend or two come for supper. We always have prime rib and usually crab legs, the rest of the menu depends on who is coming.

My DD semi-eloped on News Year's Eve last year. Wanted to get married before 2010 for tax purposes. She's an accountant. LOL)

We are holding her reception/anniversary party on New Years Eve.

Pirate theme. DD is having a lovely pirate wench costume made by a lady who specializes in really formal, well made reenactment attire. Her DH will match her with parts of his costume made from the same fabrics. (velvet,leather and brocade and satin) Guests will also attend in pirate attire.

Meanwhile I am going crazy designing her wedding cake and helping her with favors. I've procured a life sized pirate chest filled with with booty that a friend who worked with theme park stuff made. We have a human sized skull and crossbones. My sword has been found and friend has lent DH his.

Oh shoot. I have to call her and ask if we're still doing live fish in the centerpieces.

I always said from the time she was in high school the one thing I'd rather not do was the wedding cake. I've been having nightmares over it. Had a friend in the business and it is NOT my cup of tea although I enjoy cake decorating in general. Wedding cakes are a huge PITA to build and deliver.
I dreamt up the final design last night. I do my best work in my sleep. ;-) I hear pirate songs in my head while I sleep. I dream of vats of buttercream, slipping tiers and costume failures.

DD is also moving this week. DH is finishing the remodel on our rental. I have to buy floor tile tomorrow and a dishwasher. I have to sew more lace on my pirate shirt. I have help DD make 50 pirate ships out of chocolate and peppermint candy bark. I have to attend DD's final fitting on Tues. I have to go out and buy 8 pounds of powdered sugar,5 lbs. of superfine and enough cake mix to make 27 cups of batter.

I'm so glad we decided to use a banquet room at a restaurant. If I had to cook I'd drive myself nuts.

Still have Xmas gifts to wrap. We do Xmas on the 7th.

Aaaaaaaarrrrh.

We never do anything for NYE. We're boring, what can I say? LOL

Larry and I will be at our place down south on New Years Eve. Just us.

Not much for about 50 years straight Ive had saurkraut and pork new years day,not this year I go for a tightening of lapband Thursday .Maybe mashed potatoes.We'll celebrate my oldest sons birthday,he was first baby born in our town in 1971.1/1/71 picture was in paper I got lots and lots of gifts.

We just usually go to a local Chinese resturant that we only eat at on NYE~~~then home early.

Nannie, New Years Eve stopped being New Year's Eve when Guy Lombardo died. I made a tape of his auld lang sine and we played it at parties for years. We're going out to dinner with several friends then back to a friends house for a nightcap. Will probably come home and watch the ball drop and go to bed. I'm not a NYE person.

I think we should all crash Wildchild's party. lol

We are going to a friend's house, there should be quite a few people there and we will have alcohol (and designated drivers).

I will have my Grandkids for the night. I have invited my church friend to come and spend a bit of the evening, and we will eat and visit. I will be in bed by 9 p.m. Since my husband died almost 4 years ago, I no longer have a party spirit.

S/O and I are grilling steaks, watching an old movie, and getting to bed early. How times have changed.

I might go out to hear some jazz Saturday night, but around here (and a lot of other places, I imagine) New Years Eve is a good night to stay home.

We'll be enjoying a nice dinner with friends, then a few cocktails, a movie, some good music and just relaxing and enjoying the company.

Used to party with all the neighbors before we moved. Lots of food (and booze) but nobody had to drive. After we moved, we didn't know anyone so we stayed home for the first time and liked it. We have snacks and hors d'oeuvres and open a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream which is a lot better than champagne. It was so nice to see all the celebrations from different countries on TV that we haven't been out of the house on NYE since! We do try to stay up to see the ball come down at Times Square...and sometimes we actually make it!

I bet 9 times out of 10 NYE's I've fallen asleep before Midnight. I usually watch the Celebration on TV until I have to go to bed or fall asleep in my recliner.

Back in the good old days, we always had a NYE party, either at our house or at a friend's. It was always the same "social circle" of friends. Played games, had great food, no alcohol. Stayed up to watch the ball drop, get our kiss, and sing Auld Lang Syne.

Five of that group have passed on now, and most of us remaining have health problems of some kind. So I will be home alone, but I am a night person and always stay up to watch the ball drop.

Earlier in the day I will be making Black-Eyed Pea soup. Gotta have BEPs for New Year's Day. I was given the recipe last year by a new friend and I really like it. Makes a lot, so I put some in containers in the freezer for later.

For the last couple of years I've been the DD. My sis is going to have her gr daughters that nite and I may go see them. They are getting so big. I don't get to see them much any more.
Wish my Glen was still here to celebrate....sigh...we sure had some good times on New Year's eve.

No plans. We haven't gone out for New Years in years! We used to go to parties or restaurants when we were younger. No more. I will stop at the liquor store and buy a small bottle of champagne. Watch the Ball Drop from Times Square.

I will be in NYC visiting a friend who is hosting a dinner party. They all drink but I only have one. The next day I will meet other friends for lunch.
