People tell me stuff. I have a way of saying a lot without really sharing anything but it gives people the perception that I am. Then they open up and tell all.

I'm not nosy in a busybody way. I couldn't care less what the neighbors are doing or stuff like that. I just want all the 411 on the people I actually relate to or those that have info that might benefit me in the present or even in the future. So I tend to pick brains.

Depends - if it involves my kids/family, I want to know all the details, so I pry info. out of them. If it's anyone else, no - just the general information will do.

I am curious about things to a certain extent, but I try to be respectful. For example, the other day I was at the hospital with someone, and a doctor came into the room and started giving "heck" to a woman I know who was on the other side of a curtain, so I left the room out of respect for her privacy, even though she wouldn't have been able to see me leave. I just wasn't comfortable hearing her private information.

People do tend to tell me things, but I don't try to get them to give me more information than they feel comfortable sharing. I follow their lead.

No, if people don't want to share information, then to me that is fine. I had a nosy Mother in law and I vowed never to be like that.

Absolutely. I like to know all the facts. At work, I heard tons of gossip but I tried not to pass on anything unless it was good news (Linda is pregnant) or I was positive it was true (Tommy is getrting divorced).

I'm a detail-oriented person, so, of course, I want all the details. But if you tell me it's a secret, you can be sure it is safe with me.

Kind of.....I like knowing the strange things ordinary people do. I met this lady who lays racks on her front lawn to dry her clothes on. She says it keeps her from having to iron her husbands military uniform. Huh? See...I like that HUH moment.....:0)

I'm not nosy. I have a couple of friends who are; they are information collectors, like journalists. One feels free to share what she knows. I don't admire this in either one of them.

I'm like a small child! I want to know the 'why' of everything. People fascinate me: What makes them tick; what do they do and how do they think; what do they believe is good or bad or real -- and WHY?

Not really, if people don't offer the info freely I don't want to pry. Maybe it's from growing up in a household with only older brothers and a mother & father who weren't nosy.

Would I have been different if I had sisters? I'll never know!

Depends on what the info is about. I just want the facts, not the imaginative interpretations that are added on. I do ask questions if the story I'm hearing is actually important.

What I don't like is to have someone tell me something and then tell me not to repeat it, or tell who told it to me. How in the world am I supposed to remember who told me what? Please, just don't tell me in the first place! :-)

On a day-to-day personal level, I'm far from "nosey". However, when I do genealogy research, either requested or to "straighten out" Wikipedia, my persona changes, and I like to dig. So I can go either way.

No, my thought is that if I am supposed to know about it then it will come to me I do not need to go out in search of it. I am very willing to listen and help when I can but if it is not brought to me I just don't think it is my business to try to root it out.

Since I was a researcher for so many years I do however love to do research on things for the knowledge gained and to broaden my brain cells a little, they need all the help they can get at this age LOL.

No, I don't guess I'm nosy. I do care and am interested in what and how my friends and family are doing but if they chose not to share something, I don't hound them about it. I let them tell me on their own good time.

I'm not nosey. Just don't tell me anything that might raise questions, cause I must find the answer!
DH says I'm nosey. I think it's just that I'm very observant. I notice things that other people just don't seem to see.
But I don't spread useless gossip. Not everything I notice gets shared with others.

I'm not nosey if that means prying into other people's business. And personally, I'd rather not hear about their problems. Now if someone is really interesting and has had great life experiences, yes, I love to hear them talk about them.

No, not too much, I don't think - when it comes to other people and their lives. I figure if they want me to know they'll tell me, etc. I pretty much say live and let live.

I think one reason I love to go to sales and auctions, etc. is the "not knowing" what I might find. If that's nosey, yes, I am in that respect.

Curious minds NEED to know. I think it's an addiction! I just love information, could be why I made the website.

Used to be... until I became a therapist. Now I don't want to know anything I don't need to know.
