I've been cooking and baking with beer.

I had quite a lot of beer left over from my party, as wine was the preferred drink by far. So I decided to cook with some of it. On Saturday I made Carbonnades, the national dish of Belgium, which is a beef stew made with beer. Tonight I made a chocolate cake with beer. I didn't have sour cream, so I used buttermilk. It doesn't seem to have hurt it....the cake emerged from the pan looking very good. I froze it for now.

If I were eating lots of carbs I'd definitely make beer pancakes. I remember how good they were. And I'd beer-batter something. Maybe fish.
