what I've been growing...capturing wild yeast...

I have been reading a lot about growing your own yeast from just flour and water. I found a great tutorial and I was able to get my new starter to grow from just bottled water and unbleached flour with a small hit of stone ground rye to give it extra food. I have had such great success and today baked my first ever sourdough using only my wild yeast culture...no added store bought yeast at all. Here is what it looks like as it is growing:

It tastes as good as it looks. You can have some on the porch with honey and butter if you want....c
